newbie questions, please be gentle :)

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before I have looked and can't find an answer so here goes:

1, do you get to roll agility dice against anti pursuit lasers or ion cannons?

2, I have just started and I'm collecting imperials but am I missing out on any particularly good cards that come with rebel ships?!

Thanks in advance for any help :)

1. No to the AP Lasers, yes to the Ion Cannons. The difference between the two is that the Ion Cannon cause an actual attack, while the Lasers just make their owner roll a die and do something based on the result.

2. The only three I can think of are Engine Upgrade (Falcon), Recon Specialist (HWK) and Fire Control System (B-wing), but I don't think they'd be important enough for an Imperial player to go out of your way to get.

Just remember that you don't roll the range modifiers for secondary weapons like ion cannons (+1 agility at Range 3, +1 attack at Range 1). Those are only for your primary weapon.

Recon Specialist and Fire Control are in the new TIE phantom too. Push the Limit is one you'll definitely want if you go the interceptor route, which was first in the A-wing but is also in Imperial Aces (the interceptor rerelease pack).

1.- The short answer is NO for Anti-Pursuit Lasers, and YES for Ion Cannons.

The long answer is that, in general, you only roll your defence (agility) dice whenever someone attacks you with a primary weapon, or with any upgrade/secondary weapon that has the header " ATTACK: ". For any other effect/weapon, you simply apply what their especific rules say, whether it is dealing damage cards (faceup or facedown) or just directly suffering damage.

2.- You may be interested in 'Engine Upgrade', 2 copies of which come with the YT-1300. Also, if you like to play with missiles/torpedos, you may find 'Deadeye' interesting, which comes with the A-wing. Most other useful cards for the empire fortunately come with imperial ships and their expansion packs.

Cool, cheers for the help :)

Two copies of Engine Upgrade and two Shield Upgrade with the Falcon is handy. And even if you aren't planning on using the Falcon at any stage, it will still make a good display model. It's a nice looking model.

I've heard that Engine Upgrade shall be coming to the TIE Defender expansion, so you might not need a falcon for that.
