GR-75 Medium Transport - setups?

By Marten, in X-Wing

Since I work so close to one of the FLGS that is available close to where I work I frequent it at lunch.

This Monday they were unpacking the Transport, and I was like "DAMNIT, gotta have it".

Anyways, it looks awesome and I cannot wait to play it.

The problem?
I don't usually play Rebels :( and because of this I don't own to many ships.

Would love some help building 2 squads.

One for Epic and one for Team Epic.

This is what I got

1 Transport

6-7 X-Wings (cannot remember)

2 Falcons

1 HWK

2 B-wings

1 A-wing

1 Y-Wing

I mostly need help with how to build the Transport, but If someone got full squads that would be great too.

Thanks

I think there are 2 obvious 'ways' to go with the Transport,

Iether support with Comms boosters (I came up with 'Quantum storm'+'backup shield generator'+'Comms booster' twice if you can+ support characters if you have the points)

Or as an tank soaking dammage (I think something like 'Bright hope'+'WED'+'Shield projector'+'Tibana gass supplies'+'Retrofit' if you can sneak in 10 points on it)

First Transport (is away!) Really helps your squad, I tried that getup today in a 'demi-epic' game as we had limited time and it really made Han shine :D

The second transport I think could really help aswel, but has to fly in formation, with the shield generator you'd want to make enemy ships to attack your reinforced front (2 Evades each time with the title!) instead of other low agility ships that are bringing the hurt to the enemy (Tibana gas there for an emergency use to replenish all shields)

those were my initial toughts when going through the cards last friday when I finally got to open my box up :D

But Iam really liking how she flew this evening :D

The setup for the Transport that I love the most right now is fairly simple, but requires a spare card.

GR-75 Medium Transport (30)
Comms Booster (4)
Comms Booster (4)
Engine Booster (3)
Bright Hope (5)

Total: 46

This way, you can reinforce your front half and shrug off all but the most concentrated fire. Plus, you don't have to worry too much about them getting in range 1, since that risks being squished. Meanwhile, since you are sacrificing your action during the first few rounds, you can still use the Comms Boosters to pass out focus and crush stress. Which is particularly great for ordnance, as now the ship can TL and then gets a focus, making those strikes far more valuable. Finally, engine booster allows you to adjust your speed as long as you have an energy to spend on Engine Booster. Quite important for changing speed and crushing things.

How does Comms Booster work? It's not an action?
It says that you need to spend 1 energy to use it's effect, do you need 1 for each time you wanna use it?

I'm also confused about why 2 Comms Booster cards are necessary.

Because you can only trigger each one once per Energy phase. So if you have two you can spend 2 energy and use both abilities.

Do ships have to have a stress on them in order to be targeted by comm booster?

Do ships have to have a stress on them in order to be targeted by comm booster?

My understanding is that they don't have to have a stress token. The wording doesn't seem to make the stress removal a requirement for the focus token.
