We were playing with the Firelands expansion and were using the Crown Of Flame alternate ending. The question was can a character use an invisibility spell to avoid getting the Crown Of Flame besowed upon him?

Text in question from the alternate ending for your reference:

"When the character with the Crown of Flame enters a space with another character he may end his movement and give the Crown of Flame to another character in his space."

So some folks at the table said in order to give the person the Crown Of Flame the character must be visible since it is physically being passed - sort of like an encounter. Others said no - the Crown Of Flame is magic and will seek out the desginated character.

The action of passing the Crown of Flame happens as soon as a character lands on a space with another character and does not require encountering that character. After passing the Crown, the character decides whether to encounter the space or the other character.

Evading can be used against creatures and characters that attack you or try to use a Special Ability against you. Passing the Crown of Flame is not a special ability of the character, it is an effect on the Alternative Ending card, and in my opinion it cannot be evaded. However, it would be nice to receive a confirmation about this, because it might be interesting if all Evading effects could be used to avoid the character with the Crown of Flame.

Never thought of this but I would really like if it was possible to use evade effects
