Good Storm Warden Speciality
Any specialty is good, you're playing a friggin' Space Marine. Apothecary are usually a bit weaker in damage output and Librarians a bit stronger in capabilities but that's it. No matter what Specialty you pick, you're playing a demi-god of war.

I've always preferred tactical or assault. I loved playing a 2h assault marine, all up in people's business and the such. Though i played a black templar and used a power claymore...i also refused jump packs unless it was absolutely necessary. There was just something special to me about running enemies down.
Though tactical maries are pretty fun. the solo mode bolter specialty is nice, but mostly it's not the abilities so much that make your marine. It's how you play them with their abilities. Gotta make a fighting strategy. The sacris claymore is cool for the storm wardens though. Had a friend who played one of them as an assaulter, he was a little backward, more of a tank than a beat stick, but he could hold the line against a horde pretty well. Loved to beat up tyranid warriors. He should have been a Tyranic War Veteran. /sigh
Storm Warden Tech-marine that loves to wade into CC. Sounds like both a fun character, and one that could actually work.
One of my player's has that - Thunder Charge followed by a Servo-Arm attack is seriously bad for hordes.

SW has a pretty cool Chapter-specific Advanced Specialty, I think it's restricted to certain Specialties, so might look at that.
Bagpiper...?
A fate worse than Exterminis, hell even Noise Marines lay off the Pipes.
though an Aussie my Scots roots run deap, I have not to distant relatives that all but lived on Porridge & Haggis and had to speak Scots-Gaelic at home when they where kids and still do when they gather as a family or visit their parents.
