Rebel Aces, B-wing passenger upgrade

By Old Adept, in X-Wing

I dunno, I distinctly recall dropping quite a lot of bombs with Y-Wings

And I distinctly recall their already being a bunch of stuff in this game that Rebels get all to themselves (rebel crew only, astromechs, more than 2-3 pilots that over help to their comrades) so the Imperials can have something the rebels can't.

Let me know when the Rebels get a Howlrunner.

Howlrunner called. She wants to know about these "turret" things the Empire R&D department has been hearing so much about.

Yes I too played that game back in the day but no way should it be considered an accurate representation of star wars space combat, a better example would be the X-wing/Tie Fighter IBM compatible PC games from the 90's, less arcadey and more space sim

They had bombs in that game, too. In fact, you could carry as many in that game as you could in Rogue Squadron. Even the Kenner toy had a bomb. The Y-wing has always been considered a *bomber*. Why *wouldn't* it have the capability of using bombs?

What are you talking about, there are no bombs in X-wing or X-wing alliance. And the Y-Was not always considered a bomber as it has no bomb slot/tube. That's just BS made up for the sake of some video games.

The Y-Wing is an old fighter that was reliable and robust enough to be kept operational until newer craft were developed to replace the old girl.

Once a suitable craft was developed (the X-wing) she was ment to be retired but was kept in service due to said reliability and the fact that she could carry a larger payload of torpedos than the X-wing, causing her to be re named strike/assault fighter(this is where the bomber confusion comes from) or to be used as an escort fighter on secondary fronts to free up the more valuable X-wings

I hope it costs the sensor slot. I don't think it will be worth points, and it would be dumb/overpowered if it was free.

It's a title.

Yup, its a title card, so you can still take a System. It may cost some points but I wouldn't expect more than 1, maybe zero. None of the titles that allow another upgrade cost points, only the ones that actually give you a gameplay bonus.

If they make it cost 0, unless they make another title, the B-Wing has a crew slot at no cost and might as well have had it in the ship cards. That's dumb.

They're doing the same thing on the A-wing. There may be a limiting factor like Pilot Skill (like on A-wing and Royal Guard), but they could have just printed those extra EPT icons on the A-wing cards. No difference, not efficient way to do it, but would surprise me if it costs more than 1 point or anything at all.

But the A-wing title is clearly a boost to an underused, under-powered ship which is having it's role taken by a new ship. The B-wing is a very popular, widely used ship, which arguably has taken the role of another ship.

Oh I didn't say I disagreed with the fact that it's popular. I love the B-wing, but I definitely think it didn't need to be better than it is. Since it is going to get improved, though, no reason not to speculate.

Well, R2-D6 opens up a lot more for a lot more pilots in more ships than the title for the A-Wing.

The A-Wing title is for 5 pilots up to and including the unspoiled PS5 from Aces.

R2-D6 benefits 5 X-Wings, an E-Wing and 3 Y-Wings.

The title will only benefit A-Wings, with R2-D6 they have to keep him into account when designing new EPT's and ships.

Regardless of how many different ships it can benefit, it still can only benefit one pilot at a time. And it also closes the door on plenty of other options for those 5 X-wings, an E-Wing, and 3 Y-WIngs

I did find it a little odd that R2-D6 was worth a point, to be perfectly honest. On the other hand, people have consistently complained that "Bwah! The A-Wing is too expensive and can't do anything!" for some time. While I do appreciate the number of options the A-Wing is going to be able to enjoy and exploit in the near future, keep in mind that no EPT is free either. I can't say how pricey the title is going to be because, well I just don't know, but I'm genuinely having some trouble thinking of something really good and worthwhile I'll be running with them aside from Nien Numb or Chewbacca.

Agreed on all points. The awesomeness of the B-Wing is in its relative inexpense and crew don't tend to come cheap. But the best thing about Nunb is he's in the back seat--no need to look at those slobbery beef curtains!

I like to follow the Robot Chicken route and say his face looks like a short stack of pancakes. From the mouth of Lando himself. :)

It looks like the rough draft of a face.

"I'll finish the lower half tomorrow, and do something with those black, soulless, 8-ball eyes."

And on the seventh day, God said "**** it."
