The deck had PLENTY of 0 checks to compensate. You could pretty much rest assured that turn one I would get a minimum 3 foundations in play (or 2 and the owl). I had plenty of turns where I didnt roll an attack for 6-7 cards.

Well sure, 10 attacks isn't a lot. It's just, with all the zealots out there bashing running more than 4 of any check less than a 3, it's unheard of that anybody would run more than say 6, let alone 10!
Check the report from the 1st place Akuma at the *argh I can't remember the name* the second [i think] Canadian regional, it ran Realm of Midnight and ran at LEAST 12 2s.
I like the deck, it's something I've had sorta in my mind for a while -- effectively just spill foundations with great stats as fodder for passing checks and abusing Akuma's ridiculous E. I just have two questions -- first, did Melancholic always satisfy you as far as a "kill switch" goes? I guess Stand Off and Dream Remnants help there, as would Nursing a Grudge to scoop more. And second, how did Intimidating Presence do? It just didn't impress me very much, with lackluster stats, no block, conditional, and the way it walks head-on (apply directly to forehead) into Makai High Noble, Blinding Rage, etc
Still only 10 attacks though and why no launcher?
No launcher because: Ispin has a better needed ability, meloncholic does more damage over more attacks (more blocks) and GLR does WAY more damage on average and removes a card from play. Add to that the fact that i dont have to worry about not having another attack in my pool. Also the 3 check wouldnt really help at all cause my whole deck was geared to 2 checks.
I mean win condition aside though, the cards that won me games were Intimidating presence, Seclusion, and stand off.
Intimidating kept the board pretty empty, especally off an Ispin (i lose 2, they lose 3) and helped me get through walls of red lotus and the like.
Seclusion allowed me to lock out foudnations once the Ispin / intimidating kicked in and started removing play options from my opponent.
Stand off is not only a win condition in itself, it allowed me not to run rejection in its place. Combined with removing thier foundations its a really efficent kill switch and life saver.
That being said I VERY rarley used akumas E. Akuma was really there to push attacks through and deny foundations every chance he got with his R, since most every deck is geared towards needing at least 2 to go for a win. Only time I ever really used his E was if I hacked a card and played an attack on my oppoenents turn with a new low.

Hmm... You've given me an interesting idea...
I know what your saying fred but my experience playing fire ZI Mei at POTM even running 15 attack I could have won games but I didnt draw attacks. That also myself always getting my attacks a free damage pump. And cards like fury of the ancients ranging from 16-26 damage just too keep in mind.
The important point you're missing is the Fred magic. His opponent will always check low, and he will always draw 3-4 attacks on turn two if he played 5+ foundations or turn 3 if he didn't.
At least that's how my two matches and several side games all went.

sure we can.
Aggro decks love to check their attacks against me instead of drawing them.

It happens. She's not easily dealt with.
I'm curious how she'd deal with a Rashotep matchup. As long as Rash is packing some cheap attacks, he's in business. (3 diff or lower--Ragnar and Zhao Daiyu have some solid ones in his symbols; Ichi No Tachi or Mega Spike would both be hot, too.)
Ideal scenario: Go first, play 1 foundation, pass. Let Chunners spam. On second turn, lead with an attack, use Rash to blank Chunners, then spam. Have to watch out for an early Reversal, but he can shut down that which makes her so powerful.

why screw yourself over? just drop out a couple of foundations turn one, let her R, then drop down a Cursed Blood or 2, then next turn do the cheap attack and blank and you're in business.
My brain has been working on a Rashotep deck for a VERY long time (seeing as he's my favorite ShadoWar character and I burned some money to grab an early copy of him.) and he has a very simple, strong ability. Not only that, but if they use a tag along, I'm more then content with that seeing has how they just lost a way to recur Feline Spike/Hyoko-Sen on their turn.
I've gotten through my opponent's first four turns starting off with Pommel Smash, I've gotten through multiple Tag Alongs, I've gotten through multiple means of comitting Chun-Li. None of that really stopped what my deck does. I also run Tag Along myself, and it's there mostly to stop annoying character abilities.
I think the turnout explains the lack of Feline Spikes, too.
Gaddang Chun-Li.

Oh, of course. If that was enough to stop what your deck does, then it clearly wouldn't be a very good deck 8). Having ways to beat Chun-Li's extremely strong R is an extremely important step (IMO) on the road to stopping the rest of what your deck does. And really, everyone knows that you can't win in UFS without having a way to stop your opponent from doing what they want to, because they usually want to survive on top of whatever else :3
what if my deck is designed to keep my opponent from doing what they want to do by keeping them from having a vitality greater then 0? do I has good deck naow? Vitality Control is the new Evil?

I had no problem stopping her from doing what she wanted too

True, but that had nothing to do with stopping Chun-Li's R :/

Wanna try it against Frogase? :3
Sure, if all 7 of my bad checks aren't in the top 15 cards of my deck.
my deck did it just fine round 1
HEY NOW, that deck did so much crap that wasn't reducing my vitality total. I mean, you only had like 7 attacks, and Fight or Flight, and barely anything else even had the word "damage" printed on it anywhere :b
You say, "my deck kills you!" and I say, "nuh-uh", but when your deck does board control, hand control, mind control, on top of vitality control, then you have a good deck.

lol
"You will play all of your low block and mid block cards, even though they're bad so that I may kill you"
Also, Valkyrie Turn/Asylum Ivy :-P
