Soooo... probably a dumb question but...

If a scenario says something like

"Transport with combat retro fit. 200 Squad points."

Is the cost of the transport taken out of the squad points... or does that mean you get a transport and 200 points extra for the escorts?

Page 7 of the Rules book for the GR-75 Transport, under Campaign Setup > Complete Roster:

• The total cost of the Rebel fleet cannot exceed 200 points. The GR-75 card and Combat Retrofit do not count against this total.

So, no, those do not count against your points.

I spend more time reading the rules now than I did when I started, because so many important things hinge on precise timing of events. That, and I'm comfortable enough with the game that I forget things and don't realize it.

I played the first scenario with including the Retrofited GR-75 in the points and it was a nice tight match I won. If i'd had 40 point more to spend I dont know if Imperium would have any chance? We even played on a bit bigger board where transport had the longer run, but mines were packed on 3x3 area I run through.

I was not particulary lucky, but perhaps the opponent had a poor strategy then? He knocked out 2/3 of my escorts and then concentrated on the transport which escaped with 4 hull points remaining.

We misread the rules that is, but ended up having a good fight.

That is the most important part.
