Online RPG SWEotE, new

By Charlie2710, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So, I have the core rule book, beginners game, and several other expansions. However I don't have any friends that want to play. Anyone interested in starting an online Star Wars RPG? I heard there are several great ways of doing it and I'm down with GMing I've GMed several games before including the beginner game, and I also have the age of rebellion beginner game. So if anyone is interested please reply to this. I have no idea where else to look! If you want to GM I'll join as a player. I don't mind. I just really want to play!

I'm down as long as its not paly by post. I never much cared for how those games flowed. I'm personally tired of GMing and would like to play for once.

Not exactly sure how it will work; I was thinking skype or roll 20 or something. Never played an online RPG so if you have any suggestions.

Venthrac also desperately wants to play:

I suggest you guys write down when you're available for play. Personally, I'm on the fence of dropping out of my Wednesday game because my group doesn't play long enough for me to warrant scheduling my Wednesday out for it. (Sorry glewis, totally not your fault)

This is the perfect time for me to do it, the only times I'm probably not available is Sundays and Thursday (already have different RPGs going on those days) but other then that. I am free.

Well, as long as you make it super clear that you're willing to GM, the players will come in droves by the end of the night, hehe. I can run Beyond the Rim if you need a GM break, so consider me in your game (and not necessarily out of my Wednesday game just yet). I'm available on all days at any hour except Weds and Thurs.

Any ideas on how to run it?

Yep. Google Hangouts provides webcam chat, and people that are camera shy can just play with microphones. It's got a nifty EotE Hangout Tool that lets you do public rolls, so no cheating, hehe. Google Hangouts also has Roll20 which lets you put up tokens and maps...which is nice if you plan on actually utilizing it, otherwise just consider it a bonus. It's relatively easy to setup.

Sweet I'm sold. Yea I am willing to GM, however id like to play maybe once or twice. I want to do the age of rebellion beginner game eventually as well! Because I just got that yesterday

Considering I haven't been officailly hired yet and am still technically between jobs, I can generally play whenever. When I get fully hired I'll be working nights when they need me (9pm cst - 9am cst.) Next weekend is also a no go since I have drill that weekend.

If you're still looking for players I've been itching for a game, vonpenguin on Skype. I' need to take a look at my schedule to know exactly what days are good for me.

Hm... I am currently in a play by post game, but would be interested in something a bit more fast passed possibly.

Yea, I'm open to players! Just let me know what days are best

What time are we looking at. Right now I work morning/early afternoon. So any day outside tuesday is possible.

Fridays or Tuesdays would be best for me personally.

I'm thinking early afternoonish is when Id like to get started maybe 3:30 for right now and then next couple weeks It can get earlier. If like to do it earlier in the week considering I have games on Thursday and Sunday

Early afternoon which time zone?

Assuming an American timezone that actually opens up pretty much every day for me.

I'm interested also, but I work mon-fri. I'd be able to do an email or ply by post but probably not an active chat game because of my schedule

Yea whoops, completely forgot about time zones. it is central time zone in America

Btw, I wouldn't mind being flexible on the day/time. I understand if one time works one week anything can happen. We don't have to have a game every Tuesday or something. We can always decide on like Sundays what day would be better. So yea, oh and email me what days and what you are available ect. I Would like to do an active game however if other people want to do a play by post over email or something. I wouldn't mind that either. Id like the practice. But yea anyone interested in either I made an email specifically for this [email protected] so email me! If you have advice on being a gm or questions or anything just email me.

I might be interested also!

Sweet shoot me an email!

Sweet. That information helps me a lot. I have a home game going, but I'd like to get back to the virtual table with some of my gaming buddies who are around the nation.

I had a MapTools D&D game where I was the GM and that was pretty sweet once we got over the technical parts that kept us out of our first two sessions. I've downloaded the campaign settings for EotE for that, but I think the Google Hangouts idea with the dice support sounds much easier to deal with for a game this is not grid combat focused.

I'll have to check out the Roll20 to see how that could be used. I'd mostly be interested in sharing maps and some visual aids.

Sweet shoot me an email!

I will! Just bear with me for one or two days as I am on a business trip in Romania (a ratchet hive of scum and villany) and have a hard time getting acces to my email here for some reason...
