Map of Calixis Sector and Koronus Expanse

By kobrain, in Rogue Trader

Here is a map I made with rough estimates of travel times included. Admittedly, they were simply numbers that seemed vaguely right, so feel free to correct me if there's something massively wrong

Edit: something I feel I should elaborate, the squares on the map which have 'spatial anomalies' such as the maw ect, would account as unstable or even outright dangerous navigation. Therefore, it would be wise to go around the anomaly, unless it is pressing for time. This also solved the problem of footfall to Damaris, as the ship will have to navigate through essentially coloured parts of the map. For simplicities sake, it works pretty well, I feel

The problem with using squares as travel indicators is that it's all supposed to get thrown off by the various warp storms. Damaris to Footfall is supposed to be something like five months travel from Footfall due to that.

Yeah, I figured. however, the main "dangerous" travel routes the GM should know about, and account for accordingly. It's more for the routes that aren't really mentioned, which gives the GM some base times with which he and the players can work with. Of course, with the time now determined, its up to the navigator to lengthen or shorten he times, depending on his skill and luck

I couldn't go with those Navis Primer voyage lengths. Damaris being 4 months from Footfall and 3 days from Iniquity would mean that, post Frozen Reaches, the group would come back to Damaris and find that Iniquity had invaded it 16.5 times since they'd last visited. I needed something less....dumb.

If you're interested, the topic of travel-times in the warp has been discussed a few times before.

Based on these discussions, and info from an old White Dwarf, I made this handy little chart to get typical travel times for common trips in the Calixis sector.

Wow, 7 hours to cross the entire sector? I guess that's the wonder of centuries of exploring the warp routes.

Warp travel times are depicted so very differently across canon it's not even funny.

Find a level you're comfortable with and stick to it.

End of discussion.

Well spotted. Those numbers aren't all right. It wasn't I that uploaded the table to DarkReign, so I don't really know where that figure comes from. The correct value for a cross-sector trip at that speed setting (the slowest) should be 20 hours Warp Time and some 40 days real-time.

You can explore the variable speed settings in this handy little tool (under Travel Times)
