I see Fantasy Flight is hosting Force and Destiny events at GenCon. I know FF loves a GenCon release to get full retail from their products. Frankly I would love a GenCon release of F&D, so hopefully this isn't a beta preview. Seriously though, almost certainly Conquest will be a GenCon release, and now the possibility of F&D? Shut up and take my money, Fantasy Flight.
Force and Destiny Events at GenCon
Given FFG's previous pattern, it is very unlikely that the full release of Force And Destiny will be available at GenCon. If Force And Destiny is released at GenCon, it will almost certainly be as a beta.
The best you can hope for is demo games in the Dealer Hall in FFG's demo area. I saw Jay Little and I think maybe even Sam Stewart doing some Age of Rebellion demo games last year, and AoR was released as a Beta then.
Any official FFG games are likely to be Age of Rebellion, maybe with some Edge of the Empire sessions. Depends on how much they want to push AoR as the newest Star Wars RPG release.
There will be a Beta book at Gencon I'm sure.
According to the GenCon events listing, FFG IS running some F&D games this year. So this isn't really speculation. As far as the beta, who knows, but if past years are any indication, I imagine it is likely.
Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God I wish I was going to be going to GenCon this year but I was committed to another con this year my local one but it is shaping up to being quite the disappointment. I might help my friends out with getting a room and stuff next year but I will be honest I will be putting most of my funds towards a GenCon trip next year. This is on top of going to a few other cons like CritCon in Ohio and if D20 Radio doing another GamerNationCon or maybe ReaperCon.
I just really want to get my hands on a copy of the F & D and it going to be a beta as I doubt they are going to change a winning strategy now.

Yeah, saw that as I was checking the events list.
Color me surprised, though it could be that FFG felt there was enough interest from the demo sessions of the EotE and AoR Betas to warrant having sanctioned events for Force & Destiny. Plus, folks by this point are going to have a pretty solid idea of how the system works, with the only potential wrinkle being any new Force Powers the pregens would have.
Why do people keep using "&" when it's "Force and Destiny"?
Why do people keep using "&" when IT'S "Force and Destiny"?
Why do people keep using "it's" when it's "it is"?
Because abbreviations save time typing.

And unlike obnoxious use of "u r" for "you are" it is actually part of the English language and not just laziness.
FaD is acceptable, too.
Is there a set of covenants governing the colloquial creation of abbreviations?

How about FnD? ![]()
Of course, there is also F&D...
I wonder if said beta book was to be available at the convention, on what day and time we would expect to see that.
If they're selling it, I'm sure Day 1.
If they're selling it, I'm sure Day 1.
Yep, they did last year.

Yep, they did last year.
Only reason they weren't selling the EotE Beta rulebook on Day 1 of 2012 was that they were holding off until the seminar (which occurred on a Friday) to make the big announcement.
FFG did much the same last year with the revelation of the "huge" ships for the X-Wing minis game, not putting the display models out until after the seminar.
I don't know exact prices for floorspace but it's not cheap I'm sure. I would imagine FFG wants to push as much product as possible. You are meeting with some of your most loyal fans, and/or RPG fans period, and with that much focused customer readily at hand they want as much sale time as they can get I'm sure.

Maybe Mrs. Venthrac and I will share a game with you again, Dono =) I definitely want to try out F&D.

HERETIC !!
