FFG-Hosted SW RPG Games, GenCon

Copied from my Facebook feed, for those who might be interested:

Hey, Kids! Going to GenCon this August? Want to sit in on a Star Wars Edge of the Empire or Age of Rebellion game run by myself or Ryan Brooks? He and I will be running games Thurs-Fri-Sat from 10 AM - 2 PM for FFG. You can sign up at the Gen Con Indy Website now, links below for each day:

Thursday: https://gencon.com/events/57938

Friday: https://gencon.com/events/57928 , https://gencon.com/events/57943

Saturday: https://gencon.com/events/57942 , https://gencon.com/events/57946

Now I'm not entirely sure how you can make sure you get me or Ryan as your GM (Though we are only running games from 10 AM to 2 PM, so afternoon games are being handled by someone else, I think Jason Marker, but I imagine just get there slightly early and we'll make sure you get in a game with whoever you want to game with. Tickets are 6 dollars per game. Hope to see you all there!

And naturally, after each game, I'm happy to chill for a few and talk Star Wars, FFG, or talk about or sign any of the books I worked on.

Event registration opens Sunday! Sign up before they sell out!

Afternoon games are me. At least, some of them are. There seem to be multiple such events in my timeslot, and I can't be in two places at once, so I presume they've enlisted someone else!

And much like Keith here, I'd be happy to chill after I run things (or possibly before. I try to be early for everything, if I can manage it).

Signed the wife and I up for a 10am Force & Destiny game. Can't wait to see that in action.

Right on, Jordan! Venthrac, I think the F&D stuff is being run by Sam and Andy and maybe Jay? I was hoping to get at least a demo of a game with Jay or Sam out on the main floor. RAW is great, but I find I learn a LOT faster when I just have someone intimately familiar with the rules show me how they work in action.

Oh, and sorry for the double post, but it looks like ALL the FFG Star Wars games sold out instantly. If you missed out, and still want to get in a game, just show up to the FFG play area 15-20 minutes before the game you want to get in on is about to start, and bring some 6 dollar tickets or whatever. Last year a number of people no-showed on their tickets, so you can sort of be on stand-by in case someone doesn't show, if you get lucky.

Infinitely jealous of the people who will get to try out F&D

Won't be there, but anxiously awaiting the reports. :)

Yeah, wow, I hit the button to submit my wish list the second it went live, and was immediately number 3,980 in the queue. By the time I got processed, nor a single FFG Star Wars game remained available.

That should lay to rest all fears that FFG's Star Wars games are popular and beloved..

I was 3,981 upon instantly submitting Venthrac! *Shakes Fist* :)

Yeah. Clearly the SW RPG games are popular, but as a story driven game with a non-d20 base mechanic, methinks bringing in quality GMs to ensure quality games and promotion of the product line is more difficult than say, a living campaign like the old RPGA or current PFS. The quality of those in which I've played swing from horrendously bad to outrageously awesome, though the majority are probably below average quality in terms of GM'ing, especially at conventions.

Wow, feeling super lucky to have gotten tickets for a F&D session!

A buddy was #133 in queue and tried getting tickets for our group of four together on Sat afternoon. Three of us got tickets, but unfortunately he was squeezed out and didn't get one.

Looking forward to playing with either Kieth or Ryan. This game and one of the Force and Destiny Games will be the extent of my scheduled Star Wars roleplaying for the convention.

I ended up just deciding to run Edge of the Empire for my friends. I'll still try to beg my way into a Force & Destiny game with a generic ticket, though.

FFG, obviously you are stretched a little thin during GenCon, but there is definitely a larger demand for your Star Wars RPG line than you may have anticipated based on the number of events. More GenCon support of these products in the future would be greatly appreciated.

I know all the top slots of my GenCon wishlist were dominated by EotE last year, and all three products this year, to no avail. One of these years I'd like to get my gaming group in on the action with an FFG game master.

To those of you that secured some tickets this year, have an awesome time! Shoot some stormtroopers for the rest of us!
