Broken Rebel Transport?

By HRCBlade, in X-Wing

My rebel transport turned up today in the post but I have not unpacked it as yet as looking at it one of the engines at the rear is completely detached? I am assuming this is not meant to be like this??

Contact FFG's customer service. You'll need to provide a photo. They're great and easy to work with.

Although you may just be able to glue it back on. Superglue works, but I'd recommend some sort of plastic model glue.

I got a Tie Interceptor with a broken wing, a dab of plastic model glue and I can't tell it apart from the other 3.

Yeah, I got a new Firespray last month that was missing the mounting peg. Got the replacement in a little over a week; no muss, no fuss.

Same here. Was missing the peg for my interceptor. Since I live in Mn, ~3 hours away from FFG HQ, I was sent a replacement ship. Got it in a day! Very good customer service.

Before you glue it back on, can you take a few pictures and post them here? I'm interested in seeing how it's attached. I plan on some sort of lighting the ship up, currently my best bet is fiber optics, but any pictures you could show should help me get a better idea of what can be done.

Yup FFG has imo the best customer support out there. Just a pic and and honest explanation will resolve just about anything with them.

I should of said, that I think you can still contact FFG about it. But in case they won't send you a replacement for some reason the models are pretty easy to fix.

Any body else's transport come missing the front spacer peg? Or did I just get 'lucky'?

I had a Bomber that it's left wing fell off out of the package. One pic, an email, and a week later I had a new model in the mail.

Lock tite makes a gel super glue that seems to work extremely well with the materials X-Wing models are made from. It comes in a blue and black bottle with a special squeeze feature. Put one drop where you want it. Hold it there for 30 sec. Then rest it for a couple hours where the smaller piece is directly above the bigger peace. I fixed a model and used it in play 15 min later and had no issues.

The middle engine of mine was not attached.

I just super glued it back on since it wasn't a "break" but rather misglued.

To the poster that asked... The 3 underside engine thrusters are connected basically by rectangular peg on thruster and slot on model. The peg is just slightly smaller then what u can see.

If u are going to light them up I am guessing it would best off hollowing out the thrusters and wire from directly underneath since it gets really narrow between thruster and where it attaches.

I had two with the middle engine popped off. It snaps back in place with no glue.

When I opened mine up the middle engine was also detached. It snaps back in easily and stayed completely in place. As a result I didn't even bother to contact FFG because it's totally fine now.

I would open it and snap it in and see what you think. If it isn't secure then contact them to let them know.

Same happened to me.. I took a picture and sent it to ffg and told them my message was just for quality control reasons.. I knew they would want to know.. I also told them I had already fixed it with some superglue.. they offered to send a new one if I sent the old one back.. but I reiterated that I had fixed it and was satisfied..

If I remember I'll upload the pick tonight.. it's simple though. The cone goes back and then turns up to insert into the ship, it is a rectangular shape and fits firmly into the ship underside. I added a small bit of superglue and it's rock solid in there now.

Great customer service! The chevron broke off the plastic peg for my transport and I got a new one in less than a week.

Had a stuck post on a TIE interceptor that pulled out the connector plug. Even though I didn't need a new model, FFG sent me one anyway. Great, great company.

Thanks for all the replies guys will take a pic first and then open and see if I can snap it in place. Sounds like a simple fix :)

I'm gonnas have to contact them too. The peg on the front section came off. I'll send the request once I take a picture of the concerned area. (I might take a picture of the receipt from my LGS as proof I just bought it [last week].)

FFG customer support is incredible!

Not sure if I want to write to FFG for a broken peg on one of my X-Wing models... snapped a little while ago when trying to put it on. Fortunately the rebel transport X-Wing keeps me at four. Not sure if I want to just fix it or send away for another X-Wing model... then fix it :P don't mind having another X-Wing to paint up.

I had a few pegs crack (I always use the same X wings since they're painted) on my X wings, and what I ended up doing was taking a spare peg and cutting the bottom third off and using that as a peg on the X wing. It's worked really well and you'd never know it was a replacement.

I love getting broken models. . seriously, I do.

First, it gets me a discount. Then I take it home and go all Frankenstein on its ass.

I then have a fully functional ship and a little extra cash in my pocket.

Thats how I got my 2 B wings. Couldnt find them anywhere, then my lgs got a shipment in and some stuff was damaged. The store owner offered them to me and I jumped like a frog on them.

Herm... so, you get a discount, you can then get a new model from FFG, and can then fix up that model... So you end up with 2 models (only good for paint jobs / displays because you can still only run 1) and more money in your pocket... Now I wanna find some broken ones!

I might have overlooked them but I couldn't find any spacer pegs in my transport. it seems to fit okay not sure why they are needed
