You just put the word trader in but it doesn't even fit the text... What trader does his job behind the scenes? What trader is a master negotiator? Are traders known for their spending? It makes me think; do you even know the difference between traders and entrepeneurs???

Cool to see Performer on the list, in spite of the number of folks that knocked the idea.

Also groovy to see that my guess on a lawman type of specialization was on the mark. Sounds like it will offer a bit of combat prowess while still being mostly a social character at heart.

Entrepreneur sounds like a specialized concept to be sure, but if nothing else it'll be a nice alternative to Trader or Quartermaster.

There's only so many variations you can make of "ignore setback" and "add boost" you can do to a system that's free form as it is. What about when AoR and F&D's version of Entrepreneur come out? Procurement specialist? Merchant? I don't envy the position they're in when they're trying to make the careers different from each other.

There's only so many variations you can make of "ignore setback" and "add boost" you can do to a system that's free form as it is. What about when AoR and F&D's version of Entrepreneur come out? Procurement specialist? Merchant? I don't envy the position they're in when they're trying to make the careers different from each other.

Of course we only have 2 books in hand to guess, but I think we will see hyper specialization, like with Dangerous Covenants. I think we see some left field stuff like Archaeologist. I know while some fear each career being all inclusive and dampening the need/desire for cross speccing, we will see some cracks filled in as well I would think for each career.

Some are easy, like Bounty Hunter; Gunslinger, Skip Tracer, and some kind of Trap/catch em alive specialist (Trapper)?? Regardless, easy to rattle off three for BH. Technician? A lot more challenging I think.

Yes, they both deal in selling stuff. There are some similarities there, and some crossover. But by that logic, the Gadgeteer and Outlaw tech are the same, the survivalist and scout, etc. I can assure you, the Entrepreneur brings a flavor to the table separate and unique from Trader does, and they are not the same thing. You are really comparing a CEO type character to a truck driver type character, and calling them identical.

Don't have any colonists atm in our group but definitely interested in seeing what ships make the cut. I would love for the Novaswords to appear here but I'm sure I'll like whatever we get. And once my group's planned campaigns are done one of our GMs said he might want to try a new colony campaign.

I've actually used the Novasword stats LibariaNPC drew up a few times but would love to see the Novasword in another official product.

AoR already has their version. It's called Quartermaster, and is attached to the Diplomat career.

As for Force & Destiny, who's to say that they're even going to need to go that route?

Besides, they've already shown that they're perfectly willing to recycle specializations, such as Pilot, Mechanic, and Slicer from the EotE core appearing in Age of Rebellion (not likely to change from the Beta) and Driver and the Duros species showing up in the AoR beta prior to being published in Enter the Unknown.

That would be the "Among other things" I mentioned. But definitely gambler. I think Entrepreneur would best fit his business side.

Well, I knew they would do a performer - too iconic for the setting not to, and I had a good hunch about the marshal, though I would have called it (sector) ranger. The entrepreneur however, I was thinking would be an animal handler.

Now to speculate on the species.

Those look like some fun specializations! It did seem like a safe bet, but I'm really glad Performer made it in there. And I'm wildly curious to see how the Entrepreneur turns out.

There isn't currently a Perform skill, yeah? Think one will be added?

The only career my party has two of is Colonist. Actually, in our party of five, no one has Brawl, Melee, or either Ranged skill as career skills, and I think a book like this could have a lot of fun material for all of us.
