So excited...

By unclepoop, in X-Wing

So awhile ago my friends and I found out a company was making a Star Wars miniature game. We got the main box set and a couple extra Tie Fighters and X-Wings and played a beginner, basic rules game. This was not enough and eventually we played some full rules games. Some fun stuff but eventually the game although never forgotten, never got pulled off the shelf much over the next few months. Also not all the people that played in our small group were interested in playing and we also need to play games for more people.

Now I say eff that, time to get into this game as I wanted to from the get-go. Since first getting the game we have slowly added extra ships like A-wings, Tie Interceptors, etc. none of the big ones yet. Kinda like the smaller dog fighting ships.

Now the big question, accessories. I seen in the tournament section and on the general section transparent acrylic markers and the like which were won in tournaments. Is there any company out there that makes these acrylic markers? It would be nice to have something other than the cardboard chits they give us in the box set. Also what other accessories or gaming aids should I look to add? Eventually I want to enter tournaments but need to learn the rules better and get an idea of what lists will work for my play style.

Yes there are, just google acrylic x-wing tokens and you will get a list of results and ebay listings. Though do know if you play in local events you can win official FFG Acrylic tokens :)

That is good and all but we are talking a noob with no experience in the game or tournaments. That and I like shiny new things. I may not play well but I can at least look good playing.

Applied Perspectives is the company I get mine from. Really high quality tokens and templates.

Applied Perspective is fantastic.

Is there any company out there that makes these acrylic markers?

Applied Perspectives, team covenant, Litko, CorSec Engineering and Cog 'o' Two all make tokens and templates. Cog 'o' Two is a company from the UK, so they'd give the best shipping if you're there.

If you want to go that route, I'd recommend a set of templates and some tokens.

Also what other accessories or gaming aids should I look to add?

There really isn't anything else that I can think of, just tokens and templates. Especially if you want to do tournaments.
