Imperial Build to take out double falcon build?

By irav222, in X-Wing

I am looking for an imperial build to take out a double falcon build. Last week there were 3 double falcon builds 2 x chew and lando and 1 was han and chewy. I'm trying to put together a counter for this. Any suggestions?

Doom shuttle

2x Bounty Hunter+recon spec

Maybe?

maybe a combo of a mini tie swarm with a bounty hunter

Three Bounty Hunters?

How about a couple of bombers loaded up with ordinance - if they only have two ships to shoot at you then you should be able to get quite a lot fired off before they take one of them down. Back them up with the shuttle that hands out target locks before you're in range and a few fighters to finish off the second falcon.

If you know or can figure out how to fly in formation, 7 Academy Pilots + Dark Curse. Run them in 2 groups of 4 to maneuver through asteroids better but keep the groups close. Be sure you are positioned to hit the lead with all your guns on the first exchange. Study the YT dial if you don't already know it and after that initial exchange break apart your swarm and start blocking their likely moves to deny actions. Use focus actions and spend the tokens wisely. Assuming they have gunner always try to spend / not spend focus in a manner that allows them to get in 1 hit with their initial shot.

OR

If you are skilled in flying mixed pilot skill swarms choose your preferred combo of 6 (including HR) that allows you to get 6 shots in at PS 5 or higher. Ideally you'd like the initial exchange to occur at r3 with only the front YT (usually Chewie). With a 2nd exchange at r1 you've got a very good of burning him down right then. I've recently one turned Chewie once and also taken out Chewie + shield with my first 7 tie shots using this strategy.

Of course, YMMV. Best of luck!

Like the others mentioned Han and chewie can be tough however they are only shooting 6 dice total as long as you stay out of range 1. Han is the main guy you should worry about because of his reroll ability so my I would focus on him right off the bat. Again tho they will have low firepower and you can easily outgun and outlast by utilizing bwings, ywings, 3 BH, or any other heavy hitters. They won't be able to equip many upgrades if any due to the high point cost of each ship. Load up some torps or hlc and just stay at range.

I nailed a double Yt list with 2x Bounty hunters, Kath and Krellis with gunner and HLC with seismics.

Of course, it's not that easy to stay at range when your opponent can make anymove he likes without worrying about keeping you in his firing arc. They have one turns if I recall correctly, so even if you get behind them it's tricky to stay there. Dunno if anyone has any advice on that front?

Tie Bombers with Jonus and Cluster Missiles = falcon stew
