Dice Bags

By Yoshiyahu, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

We may have seen this thread before, but a discussion in another topic got me curious: How do you store your dice?

My wife has been making some pretty awesome Star Wars dice bags for me to store mine in.

Each one holds about five sets of Star Wars dice. Sealed up with three sets inside, they look like this:

I've also seen some people store their dice in an old Millennium Falcon watch case from the 1990's. Here's mine, though I've never actually used it for dice:

So what about the rest of you? How do you store your dice? Do you use the classic Crown Royal bag, or something more creative and unique? Pictures are welcome!

In my phone.

I have a set in a plastic baggie somewhere, but the phone app just works better for me.

I've got a d20 Radio dice bag that I got from one of their Kickstarters (possibly the one for Eons, if I recall right).

I posted mine on another thread but I'll repost it here. Yoshiyahu isn't the only one who has a wife to make him dicebags, nor is she the only one who uses Star Wars fabric as well.

Yeah, mine are in the bag made of the Marvel comics fabric, however mine sealed with a zipper. What I am looking for is an option for my Destiny tokens (6 sets worth). I'm not a fan of zip bags just because of asthetics. I don't use the Beginners Box character tokens, so they're just stored away. I also need something for my clear plastic 1" tiles with numbers on them (for numbering minions).

I think I have enough to hold a couple dozen sets of dice. :P

Shot glasses are cute. My whisky glasses hold 12 oz....or 4 sets of dice...whatever it takes......

Some people nurse their whisky. Others shoot it properly. ;)

I have been using the Lego planets. Holds 3 sets with a little wiggling.

Whatever is handy.Tuperware. Oakley ballistic case. Ziplock bag. I'm not picky.

Now that I have 5 sets of dice, I just keep them in a fine wooden bowl on my table. We play at my house so I don't need to truck them around.

My set from the Beginner Game sits on a bookshelf. The set I bought alone is still in the package (I don't currently have a live group :().

BUT, I just bought one of the bags the OP's wife is making, and can't wait to get it! With the additional dice sets I eventually get from the AoR and F&D Beginner Games, I'll be coming to live games (if I ever find one) in style. :P

My Star Wars dice and tokens are stored in a Star Wars metal lunchbox. :-)

Be sure to tell your wife that her dice bags look awesome. Did she find it difficult to set up the cord the way she did?

Classy.

That's a fantastic idea. During Pathfinder games, a few people in my group use a ceramic bowl to store things between games, and then during games they use it to roll individual dice. (They're convinced that it positively affects the outcomes.)

I wonder if you could use the planet as a "shaker" and roll the dice out of it.

Another fantastic idea. Do the dice rattle around in the lunchbox, though, or do you have something in there to keep them from banging against the sides whenever it's moved?

Thanks. I will. To my knowledge, she did not have any trouble with the chord.. She's made a few dice bags before.

Though I don't have a picture of it, she made a bag out of some faux fur, small furry puff things from the hobby store, and some silk to make a dice bag that looked like a creature. The silk was used to make a tongue that hung out whenever the bag was closed, and the draw string was done like the ones on my bag but tied to the puffs to look like paws. I keep asking her to make another, but this time make it look like chebacca. She's not convinced.

Mine's pretty typical, I guess:

The bag I use for my destiny tokens (old Othello chits) has a starry background. I flatten it out and put all in-play destiny tokens on it during the game.

I think I solved my token problem. Just ordered through coolstuffinc an UltraPro token holder. 1 3/4" x2 7/8", locking spring loaded cap, string with clip and the description says it big enough to hold poker chips. Should work nicely, just toss it in the dice bag. Id link it, but I don't know how on the tablet I'm using.

Might I instead recommend. . . .
