so i bought a second arkham horror base set just to get the newer board, what now? ...
well the board does look cool, it looks brighter and the tokens don't blend in and get lost like they did on the old board. I love theold board too but i hated that the expansion boards never matched. also the printed carboard had started to peel away from the stock at the folding joints and it started to look tatty. the setup looks brill when you have kinsport at the top of arkham and dunwich at the bottom so that the horror track butts up to the terror track.
so ok back to my point... what elements of my new set can i add to my old set to make the second set cost effective without altering the balance of the game, so far i have added
the dice
the new plastic stands
stamina and sanity tokens
explored markers
closed markers
skill sliders
and thats it
presumeably adding anything else will tip the mechanics of the game into an unbalanced state making it more easier or harder to win.
at the very least i can use the cards and tokens as spares incase any of my origonals were to become damaged
does this make me an arkham horror junkie? (i have all of the expansions!)
