Translucent Dice on EBay
That's not how Yoda would say it....
"Fancy dice and templates great one does not make"
idk, why do we buy 3rd party templates and tokens? Just because you hold something at a different value than someone else doesn't mean that they're doing something wrong.
Because you were showing 2 friends how to play and they were horsing around and tried using the range ruler as a poking stick which the other player tried to swat in defense snapping it in two. I believe my face looked something like this:

I would've then used the 2 bank and thrown it like a ninja star at his head...
Edited by DeltmiThe acrylic for the FFG ones are actually quite sturdy... Sounds more like your buddies need to respect other peoples stuff.
I sold my evade tokens for $100, the focuses from last year for $130, and the Luke Skywalker promo card for $75. Blows my mind that someone would pay that for them but nobody had a gun to their head.

Thankfully it was only the cardboard one from the starter kit. But have no fear, seeing as how my fiancee was one of said players, I have a perfectly justifiable excuse when my new one comes in from Cog O Two... With the extra tokens... And movement templates... and maybe one or two other goodies... Yea okay im still going to be in the dog house, but it will be worth it!

The magic of capitalism and the free market. Things are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. I'm guessing your skill as a player didn't change when you sold them
Guilty party right here. Sold a pack of $10 acrylic focus tokens for $100. C'mon, how else I'm I supposed to afford these Huge ships? I'm glad to hear such a level-headed discussion here. Like you, I'd never pay that much for tokens, but if people are willing to buy, then sure, I'll sell my tokens for money.
I have a set of the translucent regional dice for trade; I'm looking for 10 regionals focus tokens.
Fixed, looking for focus not evade tokens.

I'm all over that. I have a set of focus tokens. Sent you a PM.
They ought to make some precision dice like Game Science used to make. Now that would be something to get excited about.

Sadly, I would think non-FFG dice would be illegal, even if they were more precise.
More of these popping up, given what the last ones went for they are pretty hot item.

Edited by LegionThree328.00 for dice that comes with the starter set just because they are clear? Really? People mocked me for doing a kickstarter for Death Star Terrain that was 100 less and came with so much more... To each his own..

While I don't think your terrain was overpriced, you've missed the fact this is demand made by the obsessive few, not demand by the majority. Most people don't have the money for the terrain set. But a small percent of obsessives have cash to just chuck around. Don't take it personally. The situations are totally different.
It's all about the gear and showing it off I guess.
...Whoever bought those...should not ever be in charge of large sums of money...
Seller: please let us know if the buyer comes through with payment. Just curious if someone went crazy or if it is a case of dead beat bidder who had to win.

I would be afraid of fakes on this one.
It is the same exact image as the ebay post from the OP...
you could buy a pretty good fleet for that price, roughly 15 small ships. If you have the gear, good for you for finding someone to shell out the money, to the buyers, I got some property on the moon I can sell you.

Yeah but in this case it's more like going to a store and buying a trophy even though you didn't actually win it.
Hey FFG - there is a clear market for these. mass produce and sell for $20 a set.
You're welcome.

Yeah, but then there's no more market for them =P. They're only desirable right now because they're rare and mean you (typically) did well at a large event. If they were sold at $20, people would be screaming bloody murder that they won't pay that much for pieces of plastic.

That's the part that gets me.
I could see people spending $8 for a set of translucent dice just because they like them more then the sold ones.
But anyone who buys them because they imply you did well at an event... That is again like buying a trophy and letting everyone assume you actually won it.
