It's the coolest because it's the least useful. So I can use it for various other bookkeeping solutions without risk of confusion.
I don't know if this is a debate.
the coolest token is of course the clue token.
why thats just like sex in arkham. its the good stuff. when a player gets a clue token well their whole demeanour changes to one of happiness and hope. and when a player spends a clue token and succeeds because of it, its like "in your face evil board game" heh heh
I dunno, Clues are bit bland to look at. I think I prefer the 'Eye' side of the Doom Tokens myself.

It may not be useful, but when playing with the KiY herald it lets you see exactly how much influence the KiY had on the game. Oh, and yellow signs are the best tokens to use for Warding, Throne and Shrine. Especially Warding. Just so fitting. Me want KiY but me don't have monyes
Little Emily thought the money was "cute". That's why she first played.
Do monster markers count? If so, I like the High Priest. This monster is based on the High Priest of Leng from The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath , and his full title is therefore 'The High Priest Not To Be Described'. Ever since discovering this, the following dialogue is quite common in our games.
Player A: What's that monster over there? [points to a monster at the other end of the board, out of reach]
Player B: That's the High Priest. As in, 'The High Priest Not To Be Described'.
Player A: Give him here. I want to see if I can kill him.
Players B, C & D: Aaaah! Aaaah! Stop it! Stop it! He's NOT TO BE DESCRIBED!
Player A: What? What did I do?
Player C: You used the word 'him', which provides information about the High Priest's gender, which is a form of description!
Player A: But so is calling it the 'High Priest'! If it's NOT TO BE DESCRIBED then what are we meant to call it?
Player B: Just called it the *cough cough cough*.
Player C: Actually you can't call it THE *cough cough cough* because the word "the" is a definite article, which indicates that there's only one *cough cough cough*, and so in a way it does 'describe it'. Really you need to call it 'a' *cough cough cough*.
Player A: Alright, what does a *cough cough cough* do?
Player B: I can't tell you that. It's NOT TO BE DESCRIBED.
...And so on.
I also like the Rlyeh marker I have which one of my housemates spilled wine on, because it's a different colour from all the others now, so you can tell where it is in the gate stack.
Isnt the One who cant be described Hastur on his Throne? I thought it was one of his three avatars. The World-Eating Braing Sucking Octopus, The King in Yellow and the High Priest not to be Described (Which Sits on a throne, Has a ring that's the skull of someone) and the hero of that particular story manages to sneak past him (I think), I need to reread that story. (**** the fact that i have lent my necronomicon lovecraft collection to one of my friends who was intrested in it but never got around to reading and lives too far away for me to actually go and pick it up without wasting probably an entire day during final's week!)
But back to the topic
The Yellow Sign is, by far, my favorite token. Then again, some people call me obsessive. Dont know quite know why. (My yellow sign backround doesnt help)
As a monster token, I'd agree with TheCorinthian but for a differant reason: The Flavor Text. I have always thought of the priest as a generic High Priest (Which i figured they should add a *is treated as a cultist* like the dark druid or others), but i REALY like the fact that he's going to rebuild Carcossa.

Yeah, I think you're right, although like most stuff in the Mythos, it's not very clear exactly who is an aspect of what.
I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to Hastur; he's much spookier in Robert W. Chambers' original stories, which were written when HPL was still in short trousers. Hastur wasn't even clearly a god or an entity then; it was totally unclear what he or it was, and the relationships between Hastur, Carcosa, and this mysterious 'King in Yellow' were totally unclear.
Then the main Cthulhu Mythos gathered momentum, and August Derleth turned Hastur into yet another extra-dimensional squid (*yawn*). We had enough of them already.
I agree.
My particular favorite story was (not the yellow sign but...) In the Court of the Dragon, where the king only had one line at the very end. Disturbing.
But your right, the spookiness in this particular case from the "Not to be described element' In that, we dont realy care, or want to find out WHAT it is, only that we shouldnt, or else...
