Hi All,
I'm about to play in my first tournament and i'm thinking of fielding 2 Lambda Shuttles. Has anyone tried this? Anyone got any advise on pro's and con's of this idea or what other ships might complement them? TY

Ships that compliment them well are Interceptors.
Fly slow.
Plan your turns/banks, several turns in advance. You will need lots of room to complete the maneuvers.
Use the 0 move liberally, to increase the time spent "in arc", or bump for effect (Adv. Sensors are ace for this)
A Lambda facing the wrong way is out of the game.
Gunner is a must. As is that sensor slot, the FCS works really well with the gunner, its the base of the buzzsaw space cow.
You fire and hope to miss then you get a free target lock then gunner lets you fire again and now you have a TL to spend.
Or you can go with a 6-0 list:
Soontir Fel PTL
Omicron Vader
Omicron FCS
Omicron FCS
Deploy in a big line, turn in when the opponent chooses one to focus down. Don't lose Fel.
Watch them cry from losing to 3 space cows and a gnat.
Edited by Blail BlergI personally like to fly 3 or 1, but if going for 2 I have found the best build out to be.
Omicron Pilot (21)
Advanced Sensors (3)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Gunner (5)
In this set up, your ship is pretty agile and the advanced sensors offer a lot of options. Gunner is there as you want to ensure that all your shots count as you will spend time with no shot on target. Start them in opposite corners and turn in from the center side and move across the board to get maximum fire and cover for each one.
This set up is 33 points. If you took 2 that leaves you with 34 points for other ships. At this point, I'd go for Either Soontir Fel, Carnor Jax or a Firespray. That choice depends on your play style and the meta in your area as they all serve different roles. Primarily though, although achieved differently by each ship, the third ship should protect the vulnerable back arc of the shuttles.
I really like flying,
2- OCP with ion (48)
2- black squad with vet (30)
1- Royal guard (15)
The smaller ships get to go just about before everything else and the shuttles can stop a falcon or cripple a swarm. It works very well.
I should also add the ps6 ties really screw with people.

id run two of those shuttles with a bounty hunter, 3 tanks is nice. i do like adv.sensors in the mix as ur shuttles now become very mobile and somewhat unpredictable.
Edited by The_Brown_BomberI'm not a huge shuttle fan, certainly less than most. If you run them, though, the Advanced Sensors/Engine Upgrade is excellent for actually having SOME maneuver, and the Gunner/FCS is effective, though very costly on a ship without a great life-expectancy. To be honest, if you get anywhere near 33 points with a Shuttle, you're probably better off with a naked Bounty Hunter IMO.
The problem with TWO shuttles is that the Lambda needs upgrades to be viable. Out of the box it's... lackluster. My preferred combo, instead of Advanced Sensors, is this:
OGP + FCS + Gunner + Engine Upgrade
This is a brutal combo that's been discussed in length here (and elsewhere): http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/98438-flight-school-lambda-101/
That's 32 points. If you take two of these albino space cows, that leaves you 36 points. Three Academy Pilots or a Bounty Hunter, the problem is that it's no longer a primary threat. When you have 64 points in two ships, those become important targets. So nothing in that 36 points is going to lure the enemy too it and still survive. The alabaster void manatee is an incredible flanker, but it isn't able to flank well when you have 2. If you have three, that changes the equation as you can sweeten the middle ghostly orbital caribou with a few more points. Or, if you only use one of these beasts, your opponent will often attack your primary force, allowing you to pounce.
If you are set on two, then definitely give it a try. My recommendation there would be a Bounty Hunter with Recon Specialist or Rebel Captive. Both are excellent upgrades and will help the BH survive.
I've had really good success with this build.
X2 OGP White Wonder Whales of the nether, FCS, Improved Engines, x2 Merc Co pilots, Heavy Laser Cannon
X1 OGP with Vader crew member.
Do work with the Heavy Lasers, let the Greedos push some crits out at range 3, which for them is your best friend. Then put some pain on with Vader as he puts some crits out himself. A lot of attack dice at any range and a lot of crits to really crimp the other squads style.
I call it, a fist full of Greedos, or Greedo shoots last, but best, or It's not easy being green, take your pick. It is fun.

I actually really like this list. I might give it a try (and a couple tweaks for personal taste). It's gotta bring the pain, especially with Vader lurking and two sniper shuttles.
I've actually been undefeated so far with this list. It does bring the pain, by the time I need to turn, I've usually ended up with the enemy almost cleared out and Vaders shuttle dead or near dead from dishing out the crits.
Please do let me know how it runs for you and what tweaks were made, I might like them and/or try them out myself.
Thank you all. Lots of great advice. I currently have the 2 Lambda Shuttles and 5 Tie Fighters. Does anyone has further ideas with those? i have ordered Imperial Aces. TY
