Where would you like to go?

By Big Damn Hero, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

The rebelion launched some fleet actions in the EU. But yeah they were mostly ambushes when Rebel Intel figured out where an Imperial fleet was going, raids on isolated detachments and outposts, fighting retreats if the Empire managed to locate the main rebel fleet or diversions to buy time for bases to be evaced.

It will be interesting to see if the Rebels Cartoon shows the battle mentioned in the ANH opening text and what form it will take if they do include it. The EU made it the first stage of the Battle of Toprawa and showed it as a massive fighter raid but I'm hoping if Rebels covers it the battle will be a fleet action.

That's one area where Rebels has it over TCW: if TCW had ended properly, it would have been, "well crap, everybody dies!", whereas when Rebels ends, it can be, "Waddaya know guys, with this victory, we might just win this war!". :P

Doing Corellia again is a repetition of material. I'd rather have us go somewhere new. AoR might be the best of the three titles to explore Coruscant with, as FoD may focus on singular planets like Korriban and Ossus. The AoR books will probably allow the alliance players to visit imperial strongholds for mission quests, looted Imperial equipment, or Rebel experimental gear to use in the field.

I would vote for Calamari Sector. The Mon Cal shipyards build most of the rebel fleet. If AoR was set BBY, I would have said Alderaan. Bothawui is a good second choice, though. Coruscant could be interesting as the capital they are fighting against.

Coruscant would be good for all 3 lines.

Yah I would think this is the obvious one that has to be done. A city planet, trillions of beings, you would have untold amounts of stuff going on.

I always got the notion that Edge of the Empire concerned itself with more of the fringe than the central planets. Sure we got Corellia, but most Corelians are found on the rim and it makes sense to have a book concerning fringer adventurers for a fringer game.

Couruscuant just seems like the place to take the fight to the Empire as the Rebellion. You should be able to get more out of it as a Rebel Agent than a smuggler. I imagine a Couruscant book has a lot of focus for the Empire versus Rebellion conflict and some additional stuff an EoTE GM would find useful.

When it comes down to it though, how many other expansions can you think of that would fit under the AoR banner? Mon Calamari is another location, but what else? Dantooine?

Why does this seperate game line have to have the same location books as the other game?

I'd rather see books of imperial locations to raid, capitol ships to steal, etc.

Norsehound, normally I would agree with you, but for that specific reason they chose to make last year's Free RPG day adventure set in Corcuscant. They wanted to show that Edge of the Empire can be more about being on the fringes of civilization, but also the fringes of society. The Coruscant undercity would be an excellent setting for Edge of the Empire.

True. What's interesting though is that Corellia is among the most prolific capital ship producers for the rebellion despite not being Alliance controlled.

Mon Calamari has been confirmed to build the MC80 Home One class, MC80, MC80A, and MC80B cruisers (Technically Star Destroyers), MC40a light cruisers, MC30C Frigates, an unidentified frigate class which might be an MC30C, and an unidentified Corvette class for the Alliance fleet in the EU.

Corellia built the CC-7700 and CC-9600 model frigates, the CR70 and CR90 Corvettes, the Counslar class Cruisers, and the DP20 gunships/light frigates. all used used by the Alliance. I know many of these are covered by EOTE I just hope future EOTE or AOR products cover the others.

I have to admit I was disappointed that Suns of Fortune had no information on the Imperial and Rebel forces in the sector. At the very least I'd expect to see some information on the Escort Forces in the Sector, since those are the parts of the Imperial Fleet most likely to be encountered by Edge characters.
