A while back, the Starfield Game Tile Kit went back to the drawing board, delaying things for all of us preorder folks. I received an email this weekend from Miniature Market that said this item was entirely canceled and thus being refunded.

Is this MM basically saying, "Dang, this has been inactive for about a year, so we can't say this is actually coming" or was there actually an announcement by FFG that the tile kit is flat-out dead?

There has been no official announcement that I know of. Although, most here believe it is indeed cancelled.

I don't miss it. I'm happier FFG is spending their efforts on new expansions and upgrades than something with likely lesser quality than the playmats put out by other companies.

They'd probably have more success with releasing their prize-version tokens and equipment if they wanted to support the gameplay gear angle.

I wonder why they don't just come up with a printed starfield cloth ...

Or a pack with 2 printed clothes: 3'x3' and 6'x3'
