Torn Hero: R Discard 1 Momentum: After your opponent plays an ability that commits a card in your staging area, commit this card instead

So heres the question, If my opponent uses Amy's assistance can I respond with Torn Hero to force my opponent to commit instead of being able to reduce the damage of an attack?

I ask this since Red Lotus can negate Amy's because It has the possibility of commiting a card and also starts out with "after your opponent plays an ability that commits....."

Yeah, that'll work. It's awkward but Torn Hero's ability is clear - it forces the opponent's ability to resolve in a specific way, regardless what the intent was.
