Barnes and Noble has Wave Preorder Up (May 28th)

By cclaybern, in X-Wing

Oh boy. Looks like I need to get some writing in... Need 30000 words written before I can buy wave 4... Currently around 6 or 7 k.

Because third party retailers are a more reliable source of info than FFG.

Because third party retailers are a more reliable source of info than FFG.

A vendor a large as B&N doesn't tend to list availability dates unless they have a good reason to. ;)

The same can be said of Amazon, yet neither have been remotely accurate in the past.

Look at it this way: given FFG's perpetual tardiness, I doubt even they know when products are actually going to be released. I want to believe in the force, but I don't suspect it's given either retailer that sort of clairvoyance. Ultimately, the only kind of hope a thread like this offers is a false one.

All though Barns and Nobles brought out the transport 1 week before it was so I would say order from them the one ship you want most out of the wave and if it happens cool if not that's that's ok. 13 is worth the risk and worst case it shows up later then thought.

I am going to order a Phantom just incase, And maybe with the amount wave 4 assault ships that will be avable as prizes on the 29 we might see them the following week.

I would love too see something where they bring out the a wave 4 ship each week in June alternate between Rebels and Empire.

I think we will probably see the ships in early June. Maybe, B&N gets them early. If FFG can get it to work like the higher level CCG's, we could see the prerelease that weekend, and then a weekend later, the ships launch. That would be amazing if they could get it to work that way. I still think though that it is promising that they are showing that date as a release.

The same can be said of Amazon, yet neither have been remotely accurate in the past.

Except that none of the threads over the past 6 months or so announcing that Amazon had a release date were actually Amazon, they were all pointing to a page for a third party retailer, funagain games, some random guy selling stuff through Amazons shopping cart. This doesn't seem to be that, but to actually be B&N giving a date, which is more credible. Don't know how MUCH more credible, but more credible.

You all might want to look at this. Showing a ship date of May 28th. I don't think that is right obviously but seeing the preorder already up is promising...

I severely doubt the 28th will be the date the wave drops. This would make the Assault on Imdaar Alpha preview events that need to be run on the 29th, 30th or 31st less than a preview, which is what it is billed as, not as a release event.

Considering the PRE-release is that weekend, anyone who thinks that Wave 4 will release that week is going to be sorely mistaken.

That said, I think the Transport and likely the Corvette shows that FFG should have their distribution network fixed.

Your sad devotion to that ancient book store has not helped you conjure up Millenium Falsehood's stolen minis, nor given you enough clairvoyance to find Fantasy Flight's Hidden Release Date....

Support LGS?

my LGS owner sent me to B&N!!! basically my local LGS was a "magic" store...now its a comic book/ "magic" store....

Amazon.co.uk has a release date for the wave 4 ships of May 28th as well, and a delivery date of May 30th (and the e-wing a week later). The May 28th date is probably coming from FFG, which also probably means its a blatant lie

Actually I preordered mine off Miniatures Market a few weeks ago for $9.99 a piece...

I've dealt with Amazon and B&N in the past and they've never been accurate. Pretty much no retailer is when it comes to release dates, unless the company making the product has published a release date and they're stating that date.

Even then, stuff happens and stuff can be late.

But as others have pointed out, with the preview event being that weekend, I don't believe for a second that anyone will have product in stock. In fact I find it more likely that FFG will hold their stock until after the event and even put a hard street date out for online retailers.

Which is I bet where B&N is getting their date from. They're listing the preview event because that's a hard date.
