What does the ( combat retrofit ) refer to? I can't find it anywhere in the Transport rules...

Combat retrofit is an upgrade card. It's a modification that comes in the transport expansion pack.

Combat Retrofit
Cost: 10
Type: Modification
GR75 only; Huge Ship only
Increase your hull value by 2 and your shield value by 1.

To be fair it is possible to crush things in such a way that it becomes a royal pain to break further.
