I'm worried . . . I can't find my minis.

By Millennium Falsehood, in X-Wing

Thanks. :) I'll do that right away. If the minis turn up though, what should I do? My first reaction would be to refund everyone's money if I hadn't spent it on minis, but if I'd already spent it by the time I recovered them, if that happens, I don't know if I'd be able to do that.

EDIT:

So below is what I've lost. I also lost a backpack and Plano storage boxes, but I don't need those replaced.

Using Miniature Market prices, that comes to:

2x Core Sets $55.14
3x X-wing Expansions $29.97
3x Y-wing Expansions $29.97
4x A-wing Expansions $39.96
3x B-wing Expansions $29.97
1x YT-1300 Expansion $19.99
2x HWK-290 Expansions $19.98
2x TIE Fighter Expansions $19.98
3x TIE Interceptor Expansions $29.97
1x TIE Advanced x1 Expansions $9.99
3x TIE Bomber Expansions $29.97
1x Lambda Shuttle Expansions $19.99
2x Firespray-31 Expansions $39.98

Total: $374.86, if I didn't miss something. I'll make the total $390 to help cover shipping costs.

I'm really lucky my graphing calculator wasn't still in there . . . I'd put it in when I couldn't find my usual pocket calculator, and had taken it out not three days before I lost it.

If they turn up and you can't refund, donate to a nice charity. Paralyzed Vets of America comes to mind.

As an added incentive, I would offer to raffle off a ship between everyone who contributes $15 or more, supposing you get enough quiche.

I have a lambda shuttle in box I could send ya message me with details and I'll send it to ya! (was from a charity event anyway :D)

Boom - first donation made, and a spare ship I had on the way. I'm not writing this to toot my own horn but to challenge others to reach into their chewbacca messenger bags. Let's rally behind our own, boys.

Agreed that if you find it, it goes to a foundation. http://www.travismanion.org is one of my favorites. Great organization.

Also, keep posting on this to keep it up top in the forums to generate more interest.

Where did you use them last, was it at a store? Have you contacted them?

Have you chased it up with your family members?

Take one look at my signature and you can see why I'm worried. I have over $500 worth of X-wing minis in a backpack, and I haven't been able to find it in a week. :(

****..... my trick is to stop looking for a day or two.. then they will turn up!

I'll just point out that "free shipping" kicks in well below the $375 mark.

Just to toot my own horn....$50 donated.... this is not a challenge.... ;)

I can't really afford a cash donation right now, but I'm going to chip in some store credit. A Core Set and a couple of other ships ought to be on their way soon!

You are now one Firespray closer to having your collection back.

I think anything I have left over will go to Wounded Warriors. It's probably my favorite charity because of all they do to help soldiers. :)

Wounded Warriors is an amazing organization. Excellent idea. Keep up the donations!

I get paid friday so expect a donation then. It'll be nice to help out I hope more of us rally behind this

You guys are the best. :)

By the way, I think if I do find my minis, I'll send the ones I bought with this money overseas to the troops. They could certainly use something like this, and I really want to do something nice for them, but I usually don't have enough cash for the things they need. I'll probably want to buy them some Battlefoam or something to transport it to them and so their minis will be safe.

Over 25% of the way there in 3 hours - I'm impressed. I think between here and the brony community I'm finding all the awesome people in the world ;)

Sorry I can't donate anything myself - I be poor <.<

Heh, yeah. The brony community is also a great one, IMO. :)

And don't worry. You don't have to donate if you don't want to. In fact, up till I started that donation page I was pretty happy to just get well wishes from you guys, and the cash people have been giving me is more than I could have asked for. :)

Sometimes people can surprise you, if you give them a chance.

Keep it up folks! Charitable causes build your Karma for when you'll need it!

No money to give right now, but here's hoping you get them back. If it's still going by the 15th (military payday) I'll drop some cash, because recovering lost minis and the wounded warriors fund are both things I can get behind.

Also, I'll add in that there are plenty of gamers in the Navy too, just gotta know where to look and how to ask. It's sad that so many gamers are afraid to admit it (or just don't realize that that's what they are at heart :D)

I'm still holding out hope that you find those minis... but in case you don't, I just sent along $22.00 for a pack of Rebel Aces.

Good luck!

Ah man, that sucks hope all gets sorted soon. Am totally pennyless at the minute otherwise would contribute, must be sick to the stomach.

Families can suck, never forget I hit 14 and parents were like "when you're no longer a child you do away with childish things" and made me give all my Star Wars collection and Action Man (Uk GI Joe version) to childrens home or relatives. Still not forgiven them for that, even though can see the good side. and now I collect Lego and x-wing and refuse to throw anything out!

Would never make my kids do the same thing, is just bang out of order to my mind what right does anyone have to dictate what you cherish

You're a small ship closer, mate!

Arrrrrghhh my ebay buyer hasn't paid me yet, but Friday is payday.

Now that your getting a collection together have you considered storage? You seemed like a BF man but in the meantime while you get back on your feet I think a got a couple of Plano 3750/3700s that I could empty out for you. Just cut the calmshell to square size and they'll be very protected and you can mail them back if you get a replacement or keep them if you dont.

Send me a pm and let me know.

Happy Hunting!

Speaking of Plano's, my 1364 is arriving tomorrow! I can't wait to get it and start geeking out on organizing my minis. A good portion of my fun with minis games is derived from compulsive storage optimization. Good thing I have the day off. My only worry now is will I have too much empty space. Maybe I'll have to go to the game store tomorrow as well....

Oh and i hope the OP finds his stuff soon.
