I'm surprised no-one else has mentioned Jax yet - seems like an obvious choice to me. I'm planning to run something very similar:
Carnor Jax + Opportunist + hull upgrade
Soontir Fel + Targeting Computer + Shield Upgrade + RGT + PtL
Kir Kanos + RGT + Hull Upgrade + Shield Upgrade

Soontir without PTL? That's crazy talk.

He's still getting the same benefit from his ability, he just gets an extra attack die instead of an extra action. That said, I'm still fairly new to the game so if its a bad idea I'd love to know why.

PS 5 has him shooting lower on the ladder so chances that Opportunist's requirements are met are higher.
Also Hobbie's ability removes stress when spending or acquiring TLs. AND the only Red-Maneuver on the X-Wing Dial that potentially double stress him is the K-Turn.
So saving a TL to clear stress for a more opportunistic moment might be very beneficial since his Ability + Dial makes him less predictable.
Downside is he's 30pts with those upgrades.

It's not a bad idea, it's a very good idea.
How exactly do you get Jax and Opp to work? Because he is a high PS and once he gets in the lower PS ships will have a token on them....that they can't spend so he can't use Opp.

Exactly, it would be a waste since PS lower than 8 would have tokens and COULDN'T spend them.

Ah, good point. Thanks.
What about opportunist on Han with a gunner? The first attack/re roll strips the defenders tokens then the gunner attack should be able to use opportunist with a Han re roll. That's 5 dice at range 1 with a re roll.
