Garven/Jake timing question

By Forgottenlore, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Say Garven has a torpedo and R2-D6 allowing him to take Deadeye. He spends a focus to launch the torpedo, his ability allows him to pass it to Jake. Does Jake Boost/Roll before the attack proceeds? I think so, but want to make sure.

Likewise, if Garven has a second focus token and spends it as normal on the attack, passing a second token to Jake, Jake then does the other action before defense dice are rolled?

My thoughts are "yes" and I'd almost ask "does it matter" but I can see where it would if you want to know the results of the attack before deciding where to roll/boost to.

Perhaps an as relevant question would be "If Garven is the target of an Assault Missile and he spend his Focus to help defend against it passing the token to Jake will Jake be able to use the Free Action provided to boost/roll out of the missile's blast radius?" I believe it is the same question but with a more recognizable consequence because of the timing.

In the offensive situation you probably want the attack to resolve first before Jake gets to act but as the second shows you want Jake to be able to act before the attack resolves. Of course you will not be able to have it both ways.

When Garven uses up his focus token and passes it to Jake, Jake's ability resolves, before the rest of Garven's attack sequence gets determined. So Jake could boost/barrel roll before the effect of the attack is resolved ( evading damage from assault missiles if Jake can get out of range 1). Then Garven's attack sequence resolves and the effect of the deadeye shot is determined.

If Garven had 2 focus tokens, he could pass each one to Jake and Jake could do a barrel roll and a boost action from getting the tokens. Jake could not do 2 of the same actions (2 rolls or boosts) as you can only do one instance of an action each round.
