Lorrir's Banking Barrel Roll

By Qapla187, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Had this pop up tonight, when using either bank with the barrel roll, does the facing of the bank matter? In the pictures from the new article it shows him banking forward. What I'm wondering is can he bank backwards?

I can try to get a picture or two up to help if you're not sure what I mean.

He cannot boost out of his back, no.

However, when using the Barrel-Roll, any orientation of the bank-template may be used, so long as it fits the traditional barrel-roll guidelines.

And yes, it's awesome.

Didn't even think about that (rarely play interceptors) but gives me a reason to test play Lorrir now. Thanks!

Tip:

Place an interceptor on the table.

Place all green and white moves and place another (tie?) fighter where the Int would end.

THEN use the bank 1 on both sides in both directions and place 4 fighters.

Now you see where you started and where you coudl POSSIBLY end.

If the options do not amaze you; never pick Lorrir.

Me? It is a game-changer.

You can change angles in such an unexpected way that it will drive your opponent crazy.

(which is game changing and winning!)

Too bad he's PS 5. Makes him not as cool against higher skilled pilots. Anything that moves before him shouldn't get a shot though.

Too bad we can't stick him in a B-wing. That'd be just the right amount of shenanigans.

But a B-wing's shenanigans are cheeky and fun! Lorrir's shenanigans are cruel and tragic, which...makes them not really shenanigans at all. Evil shenanigans!
