I know how you feel. We'd been getting new stuff too slowly, and now we're getting it too quickly! In a five-month span, we'll have gotten:

Imperial Aces
Rebel Transport
Wave Four
Tantive IV
Rebel Aces

...adding up to $270 in retail product. In the preceding 19 months, we got:

Core Set
Wave 1
Dice Pack
Wave 2
Wave 3

...which added up to $272 in retail product.

And at Gencon they'll spoil the huge imperial ships, if they don't do it at a May the 4th event.

I really like those alternate paints, just not the red guns on the B-Wing. Nothing says "toy gun" like a brightly painted one. I'll probably drop mine back to dark grey. Plenty of red trim as it is.

Yeah, I really hate it when my favorite game comes out with new products too.

Joking asside just look at it like this guys....it's good for the game! It keeps things fresh and we always have things to look forward to.

That's kind of what soured me on the Star Wars card game. It felt like you never had time to work the new cards into your deck before another batch of cards was hitting the shelves. With X-Wing though, the more spread out release of the core and the first few waves has made it feel less rushed, and given time for the meta to develop and adjust.

This is good news. Really excited. Can't wait for the next big announcement.

They said a month or two ago that X-wing is their most successful game ever. The logical response is to focus on creating a metric s#!t ton of content. Now, they have to feel it out and find the right pace. People complain if there's too little content or a slow release schedule, but too much stuff for players to buy also causes a problem.

But hey, more stuff! I'm in!

I get the 'were spending too much' statement, but I am lucky enough that my wife doesn't make decrees over me. I of course need to do the same for her, but if I want to spend our discretionary fund money on something for me, I just need to make sure there's enough left over that fairs fair. Works for us.

Although I will say, if I were single I would own a LOT more ships ...

I have to say, that kind of thing would bother the hell out of me. What I do with my spending money is my business. I get marriage involves shared funds. But each person should have some freedom to spend on what they want unless times are particularly hard.

Oh noes! Someone is complaining about their marriage in a "my wife controls the money" stereotypical way. There is no way this complaint is a sarcastic joke. It's also a good thing we all know everything there is to know about Souladin's marriage so we can comment on it in a useful way. We wouldn't want to mistake something as a joke that was not funny or anything.

Yes, sarcasm is hard to transmit over the intertubes. In my case we have allowances, and try not to exceed them. Of course, it was just one little extra ship...

Well I totally get budget setting when you need to. I just hate the stereotypical 'women run the household' song and dance sometimes. Commercials especially big me. The husband is always this simpering dumb oaf that the wife thinks circles around. Notice in commercials. Men are never doing dishes, folding laundry, in front if a stove either...

But - this forum is about X Wing and not gender equality. How 'bout that Porkins? Any crazy stories flying that beautiful man around yet in games?

Speaking from 26 years of marriage, there are levels:

• no = "Really? you still play with toys?"
• No = " again? You didn't hear me last time?"
• NO! = "I'm actually pissed off about this".

So I agree - unless we know which "no" was dropped, we can't really know. I assume he was joking, and responded in kind.

As for those who are saying they couldn't put up with "that kind of relationship", its good you know that now. Once you get married, and especially once you have kids, it not about YOU anymore. And if its the right person, you don't really mind making sacrifices and respecting your spouses views.

Besides, I hope your spouse provides better options for "home entertainment" than little plastic spaceships.
