OK, enough movie talk

By Aahzmandius_Karrde, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

OK, I know we're all fans of Star Wars here, but this forum is not the place to discuss all of SW fandom. I don't want to spend the next 2 years (and beyond) trying to keep up with this game and having to dodge spoilers for the movie.

Can we please get a pinned topic here (and all the otherSW related forums on the site) highlighting that this is the place to discuss the game and not the movies.

TIA

I agree! It was fun for a few minutes though...

Me too

Spoilers? How can there be spoilers? Nothing is even in the can yet?

And what about topics wherein (any of) the movies influence the game? And visa versa? Are those "permissible"?

I'd still call speculation based on "leaks" close enough, and I don't think I should have to dodge it. Maybe you didn't see this thread: http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/105126-grain-of-salt-time/ and while I didn't read the whole thing I read enough of the first lines to know I don't want to have to avoid that klind of thing in a place meant for this game.

If the movie has been released fine. I'll probably avoid any SW based forums from release day till I see it (though I expect to be at a "midnight" showing so that'll be moot), but until release no I don't really want to speculate how "X cool thing" will effect the game because I don't want to know about that thing till I've seen it for myself.

You are right… I have added a „Spoilers” warning now.

Sorry about that.

That same level of "speculation" is all over Facebook and Twitter as well. I don't see how you are going to avoid any conversation about one of the most anticipated movies for the next 2 years. Unless you crawl into a hole.

A) I don't do Twitter, because well Twitter.

B) My friends on Facebook are actually my friends, they know my opinions on things like this and they are considerate enough not to include me on conversations of this matter.

Imagine that, consideration.

Easily. Facebook and Twitter are lame therefore I do not have accounts, look at others accounts, etc.

While I am at it, I hate websites that want you to "sign in" with your Facebook/Twitter account just so you can view the info... LAME!

B) Get back to me when that's how Facebook works... ;)
