On BGG there is a nice thread that estimates the size based on the postings from FFG: http://boardgamegeek.com/image/1950373/sans_fi
The Rebel Transport would appear to be pretty accurate, so looks like the CR90/Tantive IV is likely going to be around 13" long.
What is the scale going to be for the CR90? I know it is not going to be 1/270, but close.
People are saying the GR-75 is 9 inches long, and it should be 90m long. That gives it a scale of right around 1/400 I believe.
If it's the same scale as the Transport it will be between 14 and 15 inches.
Which is interesting, because if it is that large, that means the whole idea of the sliding scale may not be accurate. Lots of people seem to think that FFG is using a sliding scale, but that was all based on assumptions on how how large the Transport was and how big the Vette was compared to it.
People assumed 8 inches because we couldn't actually measure it, and it's actually a inch bigger so that throws a lot of the math people did off.
If the CR-90 is 14 3/4th inch long it's the same scale as the GR which would mean no sliding scale, just one scale for both epic ships.
We have an actual measurement of the GR75 at 229mm; this puts it at around 1/390 - 1/400.
The estimated measurement was 223mm (so pretty **** close).
Taking the CR90, estimated at 323mm, puts it at around 1/470.
Those estimates are based on the top-down manoeuvre pictures and known size of the movement ranges.
So there's definitely a variance in scale at play, but until someone gets a set of calipers on both models you won't know what it is.
I doubt it'll be a linear slide; it's more sensible by and large to go with what looks good, 'feels big enough', and what's likely to fit in a cabinet or gaming case. I doubt we'll see any ships any longer than around 350mm.
The Vigil (most likely IMO as the top end of 'huge' for Imperials) scaled down to that length would be around 1/730.
I don't think that's too bad; it's considerably 'deeper' than the CR90 and much wider at the stern - it'd certainly be a lot bulkier looking than the CR90.

I had heard it was estimated at 8in or 203mm.
States 229 / 9". Like I said, won't know till someone uses calipers on it, kinda hard to measure it with a ruler. :-)
Also, I'm surprised that the measurement exceeds the estimate on the top-down photo; I would expect perspective distortion to mean that the actual measurement would be less than the estimate from photo analysis.

I know that one. I meant I've always heard 8 inches prior to it actually being shipped out. The size of the CR-90 was based on what I thought was a faulty assumption that the GR-75 was 8 inches.
Yeah, those were eyeballed from the Gencon unveiling I think. The estimates linked above on BGG include measurements drawn on the top-down images; probably a more 'scientific' method for what it's worth, and going on the GR75 not too inaccurate - certainly under a 5% disparity.
