Kris conceded to Isaac about 10 minutes ago. The tournament ran a mere 13 1/2 hours!

From a photo, it looked like Kris had a shuttle, the Firespray and a TIE Fighter, and it looked like Isaac had a TIE Interceptor and at least one TIE Fighter. Sorry I don't have more details. =/

Isaac had Howlrunner with determination, 2 acadamey pilots and 3 alpha pilots in his tie swarm.

I was on the top tables all day (much to my surprise!) so I saw Paul Heaver running a bunch of B-Wings, although I didn't closely note what his squad was.

The person a lost to, named Ed, made Top 8 with Howlrunner w/ Stealth Device, Backstabber, three Obsidian Sq. Pilots and two Academies. (Bloody TIE swarms, haha.)

Another Top 16 player, whose name evades me at the moment but I did play him, had Hobbie w/ a Flechette Torpedo and R3-A2 (is that the new one that stresses an opponent in your firing arc?), Biggs, Green Sq. Pilot w/ PtL, and Gold Sq. Pilot w/ Ion Cannon Turret.

The fact that an Interceptor squad won a 38 person regional is very significant. Feel free to ignore some Store Championship results if they don't fit your ideas about game balance, due to the more local nature of the Store Championships. But these Regional results are a pretty big data point.

I'm honestly surprised, since it seems to fly in the fact of the traditional Interceptor wisdom (ie, use them with Push the Limit). So the Interceptor is still viable, if maybe proven to be a bit more viable than originally thought. I don't think many were using Alphas. All the more respect due to the surprising nature of the squad.

I have messed around with a similar list in practice at home, its the most firepower you can have with 6 TIEs. Stealth on one of the Interceptors vs Howlrunner makes a lot of sense, because when you rotate your squad you end up with 2x academies + a stealth interceptor in front, and Howlrunner and 2 naked interceptors in back. Keep the high value / glass cannons more protected.

It's still just one data point but it's an interesting one. The stress economy doesn't really affect non named Interceptor pilots, only turrets do.

And I smoked that interceptor squad with Biggs, 3x Blues w/adv sensors....but got tabled by your list in the top 8 :-/

Thanks Alarum, I added those squads. Top 4 is probably OK for a tournament of 12 players, although if anyone can track down the next 4 for Top 8 I'll certainly add those as well. Most everybody would have gotten prizes there, that's pretty cool.

Isaac had Howlrunner with determination, 2 acadamey pilots and 3 alpha pilots in his tie swarm.

I played him the first round. I was running Vader/Fel/Phennir...

Facechecked Vader into the swarm right off the bat (thought I could clear... but... big mistake) and he got slaughtered. I had him down to 2 alphas and howlrunner when I messed up Phennirs placement and got him killed... And then right after that I flubbed a 5 d roll on Fel (4 focus results, 1 blank. Had spent my token) and he was oneshotted.

First ever tournament game! Was a ton of fun! (Also lost to a Janson/Wedge/Luke opportunist murderfest.)

I know everyone handed in a list before the Comp to the TO so I will see if I can get a hold of them before he throws them out.
