By MajorJuggler, in X-Wing

Just curious, did the two Firesprays and Shuttle run Recon Specs on the Firesprays and Gunner +FCS (or Tactician) on the shuttle?

The Firesprays did have Recon Specialists, I don't remember what the Shuttle had.

Sounds like the build one of the guys in my local group took. Pretty tough list, and he's a good flyer to boot, though I suppose that's stating the obvious for making the top 4 at a Regional. I'll have to ask him about it on Wednesday (our LGS X-Wing night).

I can confirm that that was the list, (It was FCS) since I was the one that took him down in the next round. (I was the winner.) He had a repainted shuttle.

In case the lists aren't posted yet, my winning list (in Cambridge) was Whisper + VI + Navigator + ACD, Howlrunner + swarm tactics + hull upgrade, 3x Academy pilot.

2nd place was Echo + VI + Tactician + ACD, Omicron + Vader, 3x Academy pilot.

Thanks. So, what was that BH / Shuttle loadout again? 2x Bounty Hunter + Recon Specialist; OGP + FCS = 95 points

And gunner (on the shuttle) He was top 4, though I don't know whether he's placed 3rd or 4th.

Thanks. I'm not recording #3 vs #4 right now, unless there were no elimination rounds. I may change that in the future, so statistical weighting averages are the same regardless of tournament format.

not bad.. though i'm rather surprised that the number isn't much larger given the popularity of the game at a world wide level

The huge travel distances for many people are a factor. Because I was the judge at the Cambridge one, I couldn't play in the one in my own backyard, and chose not to make the 7 hour drive to Ottawa or 9 hours to Pittsburgh for the next closest ones.

I really enjoy running events, so was glad to do it. But also a little disappointed. You need folks who know the game well to judge, but they are also the folks who want to play! Got to play in several Store Championships, but that was not quite the same as last year being able to play in Regionals in Central Mass, Connecticut, Maine, and then play and judge in Cambridge.

It does make sense for the big tournies to have a dedicated not-playing judge to have their full attention, so I wish Regionals would get changed to States!

Believe me - Executor and I are really hoping it gets changed to States/Provincials - we either had to drive from Vancouver BC to Alberta or to Spokane Wa. Either way, 7+ hour drive.

Halifax checking in, closest Regional was 11 hours away (Cambridge) or 14 hours (Gatineau)

I'm very curious about the top 8 Jan Ors build too, it seems to be 98 points, is it correct?

The most up to date info I have is here:

The 3 ship Rebel squad with Jan Ors / Wedge / Wes that finished Top 8 is 100 points.

The first place player, as he is listed, is WAY over points...

Luke is Crew as gunner, not as a ship. It's 100 points. See the breakdown here:

I delimit ships with semicolons ; and separate upgrades with plus +

Edit: And, all of the Chicago info through Top 16 should be correctly pulled into that post. I can add pre-cut records shortly.

Hello all, just wanted to post my first ever regional recap at the dice dojo in Chicago! Rode up from Lafayette with my friends gabe and Kenton!

This was just my second regional ever but felt very confident with my build thanks to practice games with my friends!

Had a absolutely great time and thought it was run quite we'll!

I was able to make top 8 at Chicago with my four ship Rebel build:

Fat Han and his little friends:

Yt1300- Han Solo equipped with predator, c-3po,luke skywalker, MF title, and engine upgrade=64 points

3x z95 bandits =36 points

Round 1: Bye(defeated my sandwich for lunch )

Round 2: won against 3 blue quad with advanced sensors and 2 z95 my opponent was howard and the regional winner at the Chicago! Was a true gentlemen and pleasure to play against

Round 3: Beat a Han Solo with 2 rookie pilots piloted by Jim also very nice guy and drove up with Howard

Round 4: Beat a stacked Han Solo with Vi And corran horn only two ships but piloted by skilled opponent named Wayne!

Round 5: Beat another Han Solo and corran horn similar to the round from round 4 but pilote by Eric who was a blast and had a lot of fun playing against!

Round 6: finally had my first loss of the day to the mirror! Victor was piloting the same build showed my a few tricks i did not know but felt great knowing I was going to make top 8!!

3rd place after Swiss

First round after the cut: played against Howard grime Swiss but this time he was the one to prevail and advance on just a pleasure to play against! Also felt good knowing that he went on the win the regional!

So there i lost to regioanl champ! Not to bad at all for my 2nd ever regional

Note: my friend Andrew Harding also mate top 8 as we'll with a very cool list and my other friend gabe won a tantive IV for his sportsmanship!!!!!

So 11/16 for Chicago were either falcon builds or phantom builds. Lovely.

So 11/16 for Chicago were either falcon builds or phantom builds. Lovely.

And yet the Finals had niether. And involved Shuttles.

Which is downright awesome.

Space Cows, sally forth!

Dom's list of Soontier with the 3 shuttles is probably my fav. list out there right now. He is in the Galactic Cup Top 4 with it in the current Team Covenant Vassal Tournament which started with over 140 players. Really awesome list.

#9 at Duluth, GA Regional was flying:

Wes Jansen; Biggs w/ R5-P9; 2x Rookie (X-wings)

He also was the top ranked 4-2 player with SoS, and placed in top 8 at FL Regional with very similar (or identical) list. He just missed getting a full playset of transparent dice... :) .
