2014 Regionals results

By MajorJuggler, in X-Wing

Hmm haven't used my french much since middle school but sounds like all imperial squads in the top 4.

Two different Shuttle + 5 Tie lists, for sure, the first being Choucane's (top 4) 3AP + Howl + Backstabber with an OGP with Rebel Captive, Advanced Sensors and Vader. The second (Dark Gabby's top 2) sounds like Howl + Dark Curse + Night Beast +2AP and OGP with Ion but I'm missing 3 points.

Not sure what Lolopyscho's (top 4) was but it's described as being similar and having Howl with a stealth device and Backstabber.

I'm glad I can help, even if you're right on a lot of things, I add a little more.

  • Top 4: Howlrunner ; Backstabber ; 3x Academy Pilot ; Omicron Group Pilot + Darth Vader + Rebel Prisoner + Advanced Sensors
  • Top 4: Howlrunner + Stealth device + Swarm Tactics ; Backstabber ; 5x Academy Pilot

I'll post more precision when I got them ! It was our last RC in France...

Thanks, the point values on those are all 99 or 100, so they look correct. If you can get #5 through #8 that would be nice.

There is a Swedish Regional this Saturday on the 14th aswell.

Yup, we have that in the big list, post #2.

Edit: We have 4 more Regionals this next weekend, including the one at FFG HQ. It'll be a busy week!

Week 7 (upcoming)
June 14: Bundaberg, QLD, Australia. Pegasus Games
June 14: Stockholm, Sweden. Dragons Lair
June 14: Roseville, MN, United States. Fantasy Flight Games
June 15: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. GameKnight Games

They're 100% correct, I talked with two of the finalists who confirm these lists.

I add one more list (the 5th) :

Omicron Group Pilot + Darth Vader + Gunner ; Howlrunner ; 4x Obsidian Squadron Pilot

The 3 missing ones, I'll ask the TO as I don't know them.

Polish regionals in Bydgoszcz has been rescheduled for June 28th.

I'm trying to find the last interrogations we have on the lists (as we have now finished in France with the CR), so here is a few corrections :

Brest, France

Great, so updates are:

  • Winner: Expert Handling on Lando
  • Top 4: Blue Thunder: HLCs on 2x Blues, not Advanced Sensors
  • Top 8: Still only have 78 points accounted for. Maybe another 21 was spent on anther Scimitar + Proton Bomb

I will be (finally) uploading the Excel spreadsheet soon, and providing a download link. I'll try and get this done tonight.

One more, the missing one for Strasbourg :

Top 8: Soontir Fel + ? ; Turr Phennir + ? ; TIE Interceptor (pilot ?) + ?

become :

Top 8: Soontir Fel + Push the Limit + Royal Guard + Targeting computer + Shield Upgrade ; Turr Phennir + Veteran Instinct + Stealth Device ; Carnor Jax + Veteran Instinct + Royal Guard + Stealth Device + Hull Upgrade

So it's ok for Strasbourg and Paris, miss few things for Toulouse, Toulon and Brest ones !!!

I just double checked, that's 98 points. You sure they didn't spend the last 2 points? Maybe Push the Limit instead of Veteran Instincts on Jax?

No, I'm sure of this one, the player told me himself, he wanted to be sure to have the Initiative (which is very important with 3 TIE Interceptor squad) !

Wow. I'd think PTL is better than initiative, but it worked for him.

Apex predator builds are all about shooting first and reducing the herds quickly rather than doing actions.

All sorts of interesting things you notice, looking at people's lists!

Also, I'll update the text summary of results here once we get more Week 6 results.

Also: Warpig Games from Santiago have posted their results on facebook. It looks like they had 14 in attendance, and did 5 rounds of swiss without a final cut. #1 and #2 were Rebel. If anyone is faster at translating than me, then go for it... :-) I'll list all 14 squads here, and count the top 4 in my spreadsheet.

Interesting: second place list, Han with PTL, Nien and EU. Can't say I've seen that before.

Other updates:

I heard back from Outland in Norway, their Regional will be held June 22 at the Arcon event.

The TO from Hamburg is also going get us all 19 squads that were present, but he is having internet connection troubles. In the meantime, I received a PM from one of the attendees who found an error in the report:

Hello,

I read your thread (2014 regionals results) and searched for my squad, but only found a wrong one, posted by TK4334, he was wrong:

Hamburg, Germany

May 31, 2014

Dragonworld / Magierspiele

•6th place (15 points, 76 SoS): Howlrunner + Swarm Tactics + Stealth Device; Royal Guard Pilot + Push the Limit; Black Sq. Pilot + Draw Their Fire; Obsidian Sq. Pilot; 2x Academy Pilot

------------------------------------------------------

My squad (Tarnis, 6th) was the following:

Please change that, if you want the correct builds.

And the 8th place was:

Kind regards

"Tarnis"

He also clarified the Howlrunner squad that was previously marked as 6th place was actually 9th. So, corrected Hamburg results should be:

P.S. We have absolutely NO information on the Denmark Regional this last weekend. :( Can anyone help?

June 7: København, Denmark. Faraos Cigarer

http://www.faraos.dk/

I just sent out the weekly email to the 4 venues that will be hosting events this weekend:

Week 7 (upcoming)
June 14: Bundaberg, QLD, Australia. Pegasus Games
June 14: Stockholm, Sweden. Dragons Lair
June 14: Roseville, MN, United States. Fantasy Flight Games
June 15: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. GameKnight Games
I don't usually get replies back from most of the venues I email. I wonder if FFG will reply back and notice this thread? For all I know this may be the first time that they have heard of this thread.

Hi MajorJuggler - FYI, I am the TO/contact for the Regional at Empire Games in Mesa AZ on June 28th and will be taking copious notes for you. Thanks for all that you do for the community :)

Sounds good! If you don't mind, PM me with your email so I can email you, rather than the venue email listed on the FFG website on the week leading up to the event. No need for me to double-up on emails.

Preemptively thanks! Copious amounts of notes are encouraged! :D
