Anyone have the results from Kublacon?

Heard it ended pretty late last night, I sure results will be up soon. I think they played 6 Swiss rounds for prizes then top 8 for the regional bye. Dallas Parker won with a TIE swarm I believe. Congrats to him!

I'm starting to pull all the data into Excel... I'll be doing the same thing as in the Store Championship thread, but will be using a weighted average instead.

Each squad will be weighted as:

attendance / placement

This will give a heavier weighting to winning squads, and also to locations that had more attendance.

Yeah, and congrats to DarthDave and SprollyG of these forums for making that top eight as well! DarthDave with his own original take on the 7 Swarm; a very interesting riff on an established archetype. SprollyG with his four X concept of a naked squad with Wedge, Wes, and two Rookies I believe. Great stuff, all around!

In the event that we don't get an organized report, any details you can provide are great - what was your exact squad? 5x Scimitar with seismic charges?

I let the TOs know about this post, I was the 3rd place finisher (for swiss and top 4 for the cut) at Kublacon. Went 5-1 losing to the Krassis, RGP, Jax build.

Dark Curse

Paired up against Dallas in semi finals. I made some mistakes maneuvering and shouldn't of tried for some gambles resulting to me being at the mercy of the dice (I hate when I turn the game into a dice game and not a maneuvering game) and rolled slightly below average against the impressive might of Dallas' hot dice, every one was amazed by them with full evade rolls (dodged a 3 crit roll and then a full 3 hit natural roll, my only good rolls of the night) rolled in a row. First time I've lost to a swarm in I don't know how long, but it was still a good game, I conceded once I had just DC left and only whittled his forces down by 2 APs and a smattering of damage across the board. This game was finished around 11:30 PM last night.

The were 4 rebel builds that made the top 8 but I can't remember them all. 3 of them decided to leave after the swiss rounds due to prize support being given out at the time and the 9,10th, and12th placers filled the top 8 void. Total attendance was about 51 at the start, with a few drops. So that number dropped a bit, but was still in the high 40s.

I was there at Kubla for the regional, going 3-3 and had a great time. My three losses all came against top 16 players, including the Krassis/Jax/Royal list, so I don't feel too bad about my performance. My list was Garvin w/R2, Dutch w/Ion & R2 and 2 Rookies w/R2. Basically the games I won my dice were on fire and the ones I lost they went ice cold.

I placed 8th at Kublacon after Swiss, but since I can't go to nationals I bowed out of the final cut. I ran:

Wedge w/ Swarm Tactics
Biggs
Blue x2

I got absolutely demolished by Dallas in the second round, and lost to sirhc in the fourth.

My recollection of the top eight after swiss:

2nd - Dallas' TIE swarm
3rd - 3xRGP+PTL+Hull, Dark Curse
4th - Krassis+HLC, Carnor Jax + PTL, RGP + PTL

7th - Wedge, Wes, 2x Rookie
8th - Wedge + Swarm, Biggs, 2x Blue

I ran the twin falcon list that placed in the top 4. It was as follows:

Lando, Adrenaline Rush, Gunner, Nien Nunb (51)

Chewie, Veteran Instincts, Gunner, Millenium Falcon (49)

Total 100

I also got absolutely wrecked by the guy that won the event in the last round and his Tie Swarm was made up of:

Howlrunner, Determination, Hull Upgrade (22)

Academy Pilot x5 (60)

Backstabber (16)

Total 98

To confirm there was 12 people in attendance. Hope this helps with your update!
