No worries, thanks for the quick reply. :)

Kaburi Sants from Barcelona Spain emailed me and got me the list of ALL the squads! I am waiting to hear from them about what the Top 16 looked like. They had 48 people, and a cut to Top 16.

In case it's not clear, you can click on the avatars to the right to get a link to the list on the builder itself, which should save you some translation time.

Yeah I saw that after a little poking around. The avatars are awesome.

Wow I'm really surprised at the third place for Poland. Two ship rebel and it's not dual falcon.

And the runner-up at the Barcelona Regional ran a 7 TIE swarm WITHOUT Howlrunner. What is the world, er, Galaxy, coming to? :D

And the runner-up at the Barcelona Regional ran a 7 TIE swarm WITHOUT Howlrunner. What is the world, er, Galaxy, coming to? :D

I played against him (won 100-40) in the morning games. His words after me asking the elefant on the room (where is Howl) where 'I don't believe in her' and 'what happens when she is gone?'.

He had fancy formation flying but Vader was on my side.

I have the results for the Beanie Games Regional in the UK. I actually have all 23 squads, but I wanted to share the winning squad right now....

4x Omicron Group Pilot + Anti-Pursuit Lasers + Fire Control System

Yes that's right, our first winner using Shuttles uses FOUR of them, and they aren't Doom Vader or Buzzsaws! Sable would still be proud. I don't think this squad has a name yet. We should ask the winner, Dave Licence, what he would like to call this squad.

Edit: "Space Cow Swarm" it is!

Edited by MajorJuggler

Space Cow Swarm was the original nickname for it :)

Shuttle swarm is the power! Took some beating ;) most of the day was spent hearing phrases like "I really don't want to play against that!" and "how much damage do I have to do!?!"

Space Cow Swarm was the original nickname for it :)

Original, but second best behind 'Shuttlecocks' ;)

So here are the details for the Regional that was stampeded by the Space Cow Swarm:

Good job! Makes for a lot of interesting reading. Good luck to all the nationals players.

Such a big difference from Store Championships. Tie Swarms and Duel YTs are a mainstay in the Top 16.

Yea the lack of variety is kinda dull. Almost every rebel build that doesn't have a falcon has biggs. Lots of tie swarms. And so on. Hopefully with wave 4 and rebel aces we'll finally see a wide variety of builds.

I see what you did there...! :)

Well, I haven't run the statistics yet to compare the weighted average numbers here compared to the Store Championship. I think one thing that is different here is increased use of TIE Interceptors, and not just the named pilots. We are seeing quite a few Alpha Squadron Pilots being mixed into Imperial Swarms, especially in a couple of winning lists. The Imperial Aces expansion pack may be driving people's general interest in TIE Interceptors, and they may also be seen as a counter to the extremely prevalent B-wings.

I just emailed the four Venues that will be holding Regional Events this weekend. Two of them should have extremely large turnout. Madrid is expected to have 100 (or 120+ if they can hold that many), and I'm sure Kublacon will be a huge turnout as well. Hopefully we can get most of the lists that are in the Top Third numerically, so if you are attending then please consider helping out this effort!

Week 4 (4)
May 24: Madrid, Spain. Rojo Cinco- Ludorum.
May 24 - May 25: Burlingame, CA, USA. Kublacon
May 25: Strasbourg, France. Philibert.
May 25: Conder, ACT, Australia. Good Games Canberra
Good luck to everyone flying this weekend, and Fly Casual. :)

Salzburg, I remember that city from the Thurns and Taxis game! :D Hopefully my wife and I will get the opportunity to travel there some day. Do you know the venue name in Salzburg?

Hehe - i definitely advise such a vacation! I visited the town with my GF before and it was a real beautiful trip! I appreciate a ride with the town carriage - it's a little bit expensive and a lot of asian couples like to travel/use it for their european marriage trips but it's definitely a lot of fun.

You should visit the "Hohensalzberg fortress" and also castle Hellbrun with it's famous water games!

But back to topic :D - the name of the Salzburg venue is "P3 Comix"!
