There we have it. Kind of surprised there wasn't a topic on this already.

I don't know about their acting creds but I like none are super pretty faces. Regular looking real people. Getting tired of the 4% body fat models in every role. Unless they are chicks.......
Max von Sydow... Emperor Ming has returned! (via after being killed by Harkonnen under the pseudonym Dr. Kaynes).

I noticed that too. Domhnall was the only one that stuck out as the "good guy" because of his looks. Granted he could be a Sith for all I know.
And once again, Star Wars is a male dominated galaxy.
Max von Sydow. = Gilad Pellaeon
Has to be!
And once again, Star Wars is a male dominated galaxy.
Also, this is not the full cast I am sure so let's not jump to conclusions.
Boyega was good in Attack the Block, but I'm unfimilar with the rest of his works. Here is hoping, if the rumors are true on his part, he can hold up in a huge lead role.
Gollum is in the movie! Well his actor at any rate. Andy Serkis has always impressed me with his work as CGI characters and definitly has held his own in big budget movies in the past. I'm really curious on
what
he'll be playing in the movie. Re-imagined Jar Jar?
At any rate, he should be good.
Outside of them and the original cast, I've no idea who the rest are. But I can't find to much room to complain. Can't be much worse than Hayden Christensen .
Great looking bunch.
Q: who's the guy to JJ's right, and who's the guy to Kathleen Kennedy's right?
Great looking bunch.
Q: who's the guy to JJ's right, and who's the guy to Kathleen Kennedy's right?
That would be Mr Ford.
I don't know/can't tell who Kathleen Kennedy is though.

No, to
JJ's
right. So, left of him in the picture.
KK is the one with her back to us, hands raised like she's talking about something.
All this frantic buzz going around the interwebs right now, and here it is as well. But I gotta be honest <shrug> I really don't care. Is that weird?
People oft forget that, back in the day, the OT actors were in many ways largely unknowns for the most part.
I don't need huge marque names and recognizable faces. I want interesting characters and a good story. As long as the actors and crew pull it off in the end, I really don't have a vested interest in who is up there on the screen.
No, he said JJ's right. That's Lawrence Kasdan. And to KK's right is producer Bryan Burk.
And Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels and Lawrence Kasdan all wore plaid! A tribute?

**** your logic!
And once again, Star Wars is a male dominated galaxy.
And white.
I think this is supposed to be the main cast, i.e. not background actors, but people that the story will focus on to some degree. So...yeah, buncha white dudes, even if a couple of em might be droids or aliens in the end.
Edited by KshatriyaGollums on board, so that's prolly 1 cg character(not Ahmed Best..whew)
Also its gonna be weird when Anthony Daniels finally retires/dies...

Honestly in about 10 minutes I will probably stop caring too. Its not that its all that interesting or important to me but its simply entertaining for the time being, not something I will dwell on in the months to come before the movie. That being said, If I am going to be entertained about it anywhere, it will be here. Unless anyone is paying these actors I don't think anyone really has a vested interest in it.

Part of me wanted to argue this, saying that half the "whites" are going to have a costume or make up on and the two young actors are not white, which I suspect will be the two main actors. Then I realized no matter how I argue it, its just going to sound bad.

Oscar Isaac is of latin decent.
John Boyega is black.
That is 1/3rd of the newly announced actors. Stop looking for **** that isn't there.
Footnote, you were right.
And once again, Star Wars is a male dominated galaxy.
My first thought was, how the heck are they going to keep the galaxy populated with those kinds of ratios.
Edited by LokisCoyoteBoyega! Sup bruv!
I really enjoyed Attack the Block. Was a pretty decent B movie and I enjoyed his character Moses for the most part. Will be interesting to see this all pan out.
Attack the Block was Rad. It wasn't a B-Movie. It was British movie... Almost the same thing though. If you haven't seen Attack the Block I recommend you do so. It was in my top five last year. I am so excited about Boyega in this movie.
Attack the block is from 2011 though...
Still a very cool movie that isn't afraid to have its "heroes" do some pretty sh*tty stuff.
