I can see then appearing from now and then in the movies, but I think by the end of the first film JJ will have us all forgetting they are even there and focusing heavily on the new kids.

The fact is that there couldn't be sequels without them. Unless you re-write the entire EU that is.

They are a necessary evil so to speak, and I for one would have been outraged if they had been left out.

What makes people think the Solo twins of the old EU will exist in the new movies? For all we know Han and Leia's romance fizzled after a year and she married Lando. I also highly doubt Luke will be married let alone have a child. I seem to remember interviews with Lucas where he said he disliked that about the old EU. And since Sontir Fel doesn't exist yet I think Jagged might be a bit of a stretch.

Now for my own unfounded predictions :-D

New cast includes Lando's son, Han/Leia's daughter, and for something totally unexpected Wedge's Rodian lovechild. Oh, and a Sith badguy.

Or worse!

The children are Luke and Leia's. Let us not forget that one time on Hoth.

Oh, and of course the Falcon will be involved but by the end of the first movie Han passes it on to the "new kids".

Saw an article saying that the SWVII casting isn't done yet and one of them is for a female actress.

I think the reason we are all assuming they are the Solo twins is that any other option completely re-writes all EU. Not just the Heir to The Empire / Thrawn books.

Of course theres no reason to believe that is not going to be the case but Solo twins are born towards the end of that trilogy, no Skywalker kids, still got Chewie.

It kind of makes sence to use Jacen and Jaina as the lead replacements as so much of the EU storylines can revolve around them instead of the old duffers.

All you need to do is advance their age by 18-20 years. And lets face it the Thrawn storyline takes place, what 2-3 years after Endor, it's over 30 years since that now, so you'd have to advance the kids ages to tie in with the older OT cast.

I'm reading on a lot of sites that Ventris will be in the new films and the title may be "Dawn of the Jedi", personally I don't like this as it does't fit the usual model of names, I.e it has too many words, 1st and 4th films (beginning of trilogy's ) have three words, The Phantom Menace, A new Hope....etc....
