New Escalation Rules

So with the new rules in force what are we all thinking for escalation tournaments. I'm thinking its tough for the rebels with high base points and only a 30 point jump between rounds?

In the current state of play I tend to agree but I think Escalation was designed with wave 4+ in mind. Once the Z-95's and Rebel aces arrive it will be much easier for the Rebs.

True. I still think it pigeon holes rebels into kitted up named pilots but give imps way more options

It restricts Big ships pretty hard as well. You're not fitting Dual falcons or Firesprays in there most of the time.

5 Lamda shuttles with engine upgrade and gunners. Let the fun begin.

Has anyone actually played an escalation tourney yet? What have people seen being used?

Playing in the first one in our area this weekend. So far most of our group are running Empire as they seem easier to 'escalate' with.

A couple are running with Firespray's and Ties to start and another is running Bombers with Assault and Cluster Missiles to try and counter both big ships and swarms.

I'm still undecided - Will either go with a thematic Rebel list from the movies or a combination of minni Howl swarm with a BH and Interceptor in support.

We have one 2 weeks after regionals. I'm running 7 TIE and 2 shuttles.

I just mocked up a list of 8 ties with vader as the icing on the cake, on paper should work pretty nicely

Going to be hard to beat a Howl swarm for the first few rounds

I'm playing a rebel list this week and have squeezed in 5 ships...... Ouch

Here I was hoping people had made some good lists already, there's an escalation tourney this Saturday. Was trying to think up a way to do my Krassis and mini swarm list.

Do you find A-Wings a bit rubbish without missiles? I've always had issues with only 2 attack dice.

I haven't played the list yet, so I can't say for certain. It's more of a thought experiment at this time. However, I find a lone PTL A-wing in a list seems to be able to find its way into range 1 of the other side while staying outside their firing arc, and causes more damage then it takes. I had one tonight strip a couple of shields (and a stealth device) off Fett and knock Dark Curse down to 1 hull before getting offed.

Rob and cheese god - both lists look pretty solid!

The only thing I would consider in the Rebel list is either swap a B-Wing for a pilot with squad leader or even Garven to give Biggs a focus token to go with his F2 and Stealth - If it was me I would add this in at 90 points by upgrading the Rookie to Luke with R2-D2 and Squad leader and sacrifice the HLC.

Got one later this month, so I'll start coming up with a list after finals, I suppose.

I have yet to fly with Luke. How do people like him?

Hmm interesting, was thinking of alternatives since I know multiple big bases lead to collisions. Lately I've been flying Krassis + HLC+APL+RS, Backstabber, and 3 Academies at 100 points but can't think how to chop that up neatly into 30 point chunks. The Royal squint would change things up a bit.

Now I'm wondering if a HSF would work in Escalation. 1st 60 points would probably just be the Falcon....

Rob Jedi, with only 1 ship, you may struggle againsg 3-5 ship empire builds in round 1. Other thannthat, looks pretty solid.
