Dial manoeuvre Charts

By Mace Windu, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I have looked around the questions on this forum and indeed have seen players with them at tournaments but are printouts that show all possible manoeuvres for all ships actually legal at events? it feels like it would be considered exterior notes which in a lot of other games are considered illegal.

is there any part of the tournament rules of FAQ I am missing?

Personally, I have no issue with it. I can memorize things pretty well which would lend me an advantage if those are outlawed. Guessing which maneuver your opponent might pull is exciting, guessing what they've got available is something else.

My 2 cents

It's totally legal. They even give you the reference in every expansion, and I see people with the printouts Hexis makes all the time, even at Worlds.

This. The information on them is provided officially by FFG with every ship, I don't see any reason why organizing it into a single page would be a problem.

Plus, if I remember those little printouts in the expansions correctly, the fine print actually tells you to save them and have them available for reference during games.

The only "secret" information in X-Wing is what you set your maneuver dial do and even that can be gotten around somewhat. I'm not considering ranges or actual maneuvers a "secret" although you can only measure/use templates at certain times.

It's not like it even gives you a huge advantage. Knowing what maneuvers a Tie Fighter or Y-Wing can make doesn't mean you know where it will end up.

Rulebook, last page:

The table below lists all possible maneuvers that an X-wing and a TIE fighter can execute. Players can reference this table at any time.

Every expansion includes a similar statement. Both players may reference all tables at any time. Printing all of them on one page saves paperwork.
