E-wing Announcement Up

By Engine25, in X-Wing

Sweet sweet... Also... this is a Leet post... er I mean... it's a 1337 post!

Corran is completely spoiled:

Dude, R7 Astromech... awesome. This will be a Go-to on Tarn Mison. Looks like a pretty great game-closer to have on your squad.

I must have this ship.

3 will do nicely.

I figured this thing was gonna be nice, didn't think it was gonna be that nimble though. Wow.

Uhmm, so exactly how does that cockpit canopy open with the huge, fixed laser cannon over it? :)

The cannon disconnects; the barrel is attached to the canopy, and the lasing chamber(?) is attached to the cowling behind the canopy.

It could slide forward??

how can they preview the E-wing, and not show it's dial?

So... Once again they chose not to spoil the 2nd generic, and leave us wondering if it'll have an EPT. So, if Corran attacks at the start of the end phase, does that mean that tokens aren't removed yet? I would think so.

That, along with the 3 white turn, are the only things that were previously unspoiled. So not that much new info...

Just me or did they not spoil the dial?

Or do you mean the R7. It does look cool. Likely something I'd use with Stealth Device.

Either way, Corran looks amazing. When you know you won't have a shot next turn or will be safer not worrying about it, take it early. Seriously Epic.

I really like the idea behind Corran Horn. Give him marksmanship and FCS. You make two attacks in one round, then on your next activation you bug out to avoid fire. Then you come around and do two attacks again. Then bug out. Repeat. Kinda like Backstabber wants you to look at him, it Will occasionally bait the other player to chase him down in the off turn, likely opening targets up for you that can't get as many return shots.

They only mention the dial having more green than red. No pics of the dial yet.

Yeah, damage now is always worth more than damage later. It's a really, really spiffy ability.

I'd agree, he'd attack before any tokens are removed.

No movement dial?

The pilot ability works at the start of the end phase. What does that mean?

He can attack the same target twice in one round while the target gets evade or focus actions from only one round.

The attack happens before R5 can repair anything. Like your own weapon malfunction or the direct hit the target already has.

You do not need to keep any target in arc as you cannot shoot next round anyway. This offers maneuvering options.

Yeah, damage now is always worth more than damage later. It's a really, really spiffy ability.

In theory Corran could kill 2 ships in the same turn, then run away.

I'm overwhelmed by the options of this ship. And that is a GOOD problem to have.

I wanted that dial pic so bad...

Yup... I really like his ability. He's the first ship (er, Pilot) who doesn't want to attack every turn. I suppose the Phantom could have the same ability, though the fact that it can attack every turn means that it probably will want to attack every turn.

Opening salvo at R3, attack once, get a TL via FCS... Round 2, attack at R1, spend TL+F... End of R2 attack spend TL... Throw a total of 11 dice from 1 ship over 2 turns. He'll be great against both hunks of space junk (YT-1300, Albino Rhinos) as well as interceptors (how often do you get those in arc? And they live via tokens, so if you can get a good shot on one... and then take TWO shots at it, you're likely to kill it)... And he'll be able to 1 round both X wings and B wings relatively easy...

And then get the hell out of dodge, while turtling up for defense... Talk about hit and run tactics... I suppose this is the answer to the Defender who will be just K turning all the time.

So... Once again they chose not to spoil the 2nd generic, and leave us wondering if it'll have an EPT.

It doesn't. You can tell if you look at the final picture where everything is laid out. Look at Corran's card on the far left. You can see about half of his EPT slot as well as half of the focus action on his action bar.

On the second generic (second from the right), you can see about half the focus action icon there as well, but it's blank space under it. So no EPT unless he lost a different upgrade slot...

Good catch. So no EPT on generic PS3.

Yeah Coran is way better than I expected. I thought he would be able to shoot before anyone else, but couldn't shoot again that combat phase. It couldn't be MORE opposite. He shoots early and then shoots again late. Pretty rad, but a pretty penny too.
