Aaaand another Bounty Hunter topic......... sorry

By TheDarkPilot, in X-Wing

Always flying TIE Fighters and Interceptors is not really that great... even when you win a lot of times (only not when needed like on tournaments or store championships...) anyhow, so i thought... look you got other ships as well...

So i was sitting down and thinking about a good build for ships i never touched b4 so i really need your input...

My only ships i never touched are Firepray-31 and TIE Bombers...

My idea was.. hey load your Firesprays with 2ndaries and put Jonus in the mix.. might be fun.

So here are 2 lists...

(100/100)

Bounty Hunter + Heavy Laser

Bounty Hunter + Ion Cannon

Captain Jonus + Squad Leader

(100/100)

Bounty Hunter + Heavy Laser + Weapons Eng.

Bounty Hunter + Ion Cannon + Recon Spec.

Howlrunner + Squad Leader + Targeting Computer

Any idea if these make sense?

I tried to play against my son with the 1st setup and i was up against a Han Solo with 2 AWings.

Was a 3/2 win for me but i did not feel confident...

Any help.. as always.. highly appreciated.

You're paying a premium for support pilots that benefit from having a lot more ships on the table. I like double Firespray lists, so they're definitely doable, but I would strongly reconsider Jonus and Howlrunner. Personally, I prefer Dark Curse or Backstabber as my third ship.

From my experience HLC on Firespray is just waste of points, the biggest strength of the firespray is its rear arc and you can't use it to shoot with HLC.

Therfore much better option is in my opinion is ion cannon.

You ionize a ship on a first pass(or two with two ion cannons) then get behind them, use your rear arc and they can't shoot back! Even better when you throw Rebel Captive on one of your firesprays, stressed and ionized ship is a dead ship.

So here's my take if you want to fly 2 firesprays and a bomber:

Bounty Hunter + ion cannon

Bounty Hunter + ion cannon + rebel captive

Captain Jonus + Seismic Charges(a little anti swarm tech)

Thanks guys...

I really like both of your ideas...

I have to see if that would work with 100pts.

So i might end up with dual ION and a Rebel Cap and Dark Curse... hehe

(even that i then have a TIE Fighter again :P )

Thanks

A single TIE fighter is not usually my go-to option if I can avoid it, but there's not much wiggle room when fielding two Firesprays with upgrades. The TIEs I chose above offer above average performance for their respective point costs. Backstabber is a great offensive option, but expect him to draw a lot of heat early on. For that reason I usually opt for Dark Curse, who is an all around pain to kill - even more so with Stealth Device or Hull Upgrade.
