Can a Toad take objects?

When a character transform into a Toad, he must drop all his objects, but can the toad take them later? if he can... can the character keep them when he turns back from the toad form?

You can keep only spell but cant use them, cant get new spells too.

It is happened a lot in our games: " oh **** i cant draw xxxx magic item, come out! " then the wizard cast random on you and you turn in a toad and then you draw the xxx magic item!!!!!
