Sleeve Numbers (as stated on game boxes)

By mistercam, in Fantasy Flight Supply

Hello

I notice on the back of Fantasy Flight games there is often a blue legend used to help determine which sleeves work with the game cards. You can see an example of this blue legend on the FF page for Battle Star Galactica, here: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=18&esem=1

Can someone tell me what the numbers correspond to?

Looking at the FF sleeve product page ( http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=86&esem=2&esum=123 ) I see that each item has a product code (e.g. FFS01, FFS02, etc.)

Looking at the blue legend on the BSG page, what does the yellow 3 represent? I only see one sleeve product with yellow packaging on the product listing page, but its product code (FFS01) does not contain a 3. For the green 3 on the BSG page, I do see a possible corresponding sleeve product that has green packaging and also has a product code of FFS03.

I'm left thinking I may not be interpreting these blue legends correctly on the game boxes.

Can anyone provide any clarification?

Thanks!

Here's the answer to my own question, which I received from FFG customer support.

Using the blue rectangular legend on the Battlestar Galactica board game product page, the yellow 3 indicates you need that you need 3x of the Mini American board game sleeves ( http://store.fantasyflightgames.com/productdetails.cfm?sku=FFS01 ). Similarly, the green 3 indicates you need 3x of the Standard American board game sleeves ( http://store.fantasyflightgames.com/productdetails.cfm?sku=FFS03 ).

So the colour of the square represents the sleeve packaging colour and the number within it represents the number of packets you need.

For whatever reason quantity never even entered my mind. I really don't know how I failed to figure that out on my own. Oh well.

Thanks for posting the answer to your own question. I have never used sleeves before either and now that I'm considering it, I too was wondering what exactly the number/colour combinations corresponded to. You saved me from having to ask a question. :-)
