First Tournament - 100point Chewie List - Opinions?

Hi all,

I'm relatively new to this but have played a dozen or so games & am going to play in my first, 100 point, 3 game event in 2 weeks time. Below I've got the ships I own & what I'm thinking of taking. Any & all opinions would be most welcome.

I have built a similar list (nearly identical) but have yet to try it out. I think it should be pretty good .If you can somehow flank Wedge around he could really do some damage. Really no need to keep the ships in formation.

You could drop the Rookie and Wedge's R2 as you don't need it really and get a HWK with blaster turret and recon specialist for a handy second turret.

I would suggest making room on chewie for Expert Handling. Barrel roll on large ships is dirty, just my suggestion. Either get rid of the r2s or 1 r2 and MF for EH.

Nice build; Chewie + 2 Xs is a solid list. You'll have to fly well to keep Wedge alive for long, though the R2 astromechs should help. If you're looking for other suggestions, I ran this 100 point build in an 8-player tournament and got third:

Do you have any Imperial ships? I'm not sure the R2s are doing much for the X-Wings (performing a k-turn should not be a common occurrence) and I could think of other things to get with them. My initial thought is Swarm Tactics for Wedge so he can let one of the other ships fire a lot earlier as well but if you don't have a TIE Fighter/Advanced expansion you may not have it. Expert Handling on Chewie could be interesting. I'd also consider Draw Their Fire on Chewie so he could absorb any crits the other ships would take and turn them face down on the YT; alternatively I'd consider using Determination which is nice because it can actually DISCARD potential pilot criticals that a ship is dealt.

If we are completely honest you have plenty of options with the ships you have. A Falcon and two other fighters is pretty standard. If you want to get some opponents to rage quit (at least based on feedback seen in these forums) you might try this:

Chewie + DtF + Gunner + Falcon Title

Dutch + Ion Turret

Gold + Ion Turret

LOTS of hits to go through and no safe way to approach them.

I took second in a store tournament with

Chewbaca + Gunner + Assault missile

Blue Squadron B-Wing + FCS

Blue Squadron B-Wing + FCS

Never fired the Assault missile once. I don't really thinik it was this lists style. I would have changed it up to give Chewie Luke with PTL. Would of had a very potent shooting phase with that combo.

To be honest the R2s were there as I'm not really good enough yet to not need to k turn relatively often but I do have a few imperial ships so will look into Draw Their Fire, Swarm Tactics & Expert Handling. I've not used the HWK yet, but I'd like to use it soon.
