I experimented with the above technique on a piece of shower wall liner (think plasticard). Though it ended up being 3' by 2.5' it looked amazing!!! I am actually working on a case not unlike the one above with a sheet of paneling.
3 x 3 board ideas
I bought a folding 48" x 36" foam display board at Walmart. You can find them in the school supply section. I got some black felt and some spray contact glue. I glued the felt onto the display board and trimmed around the edges. I measured 6 inches in from the long ends and used a silver paint marker to mark the 36" boundary line. This gives each player a 36" x 6" area to place their cards and tokens. The felt is thin enough where the board can still be folded for storage. Works great.
I just bought some 9mm ply. Gonna cut it into 2x 3'x11/2' strips and hinge it, then glue black felt to one side. Lightweight, strong and portable.
