Star Wars concept art

New to me!

Awesome! Couldn't help but notice there was a stormtrooper with a lightsaber.

I think that one was intended as Darth Vader. For a while.

The problem with all these new books is that if you have the 'art of' books you pretty much have it all already. I w\saw that yesterday in the bookstore and was going to add it to my research library but after looking through it decided it would be a waste.Too much pequel design work as well

Rinzlers Star Wars The Blueprints book however is worth the money

So cool! Thanks for the share!

"In his renderings, light sabers were a single colour, and were carried by storm troopers and other non-Jedi/Sith characters, before Lucas fully developed the mythology and made them a Jedi weapon."

I want to look. But I have an intense hatred of Buzzfeed.

If it helps, it's a decent list and not a "which unrelated object are you" quiz.

Interesting . . . I had a feeling the artwork on the ST-321 title card was a McQuarrie painting.

Yes, originally, light sabers were just like regular swords were. Just another weapon.

But then how will I ever know which of the 12 original Crayola colors I am?!

Edit: Ignore the snark, that was awesome.

I've got all three print sets and they are BIG and beautiful. Ralph MacQuarrie's work was fantastic.
