So my Plano storage box arrived today, a 1354 and it's too small!
Been waiting ages for this, now I'm back to square one. Where in the UK can I get one that will fit the bill, I'm looking at a Plano 1363. Any suggestions guys?

I have a 1363 - I moved on quickly.
I am a connoisseur of tackle boxes and organizers as I am very OCD.
All of my X-Wing stuff is neatly packed into three separate containers as I have yet to find something suitable that holds everything in the manner I would like it to.
If you have large ships, you will have to customize that 1363 fairly extensively to get everything to fit (such as hot-knifing the trays, etc.)
Outside of that - if you aren't as picky as me, the 1363 might work for you if you don't mind the "just stuff that anywhere it will fit" method. (I realize I have a problem, and that you might not)
The primary problem is that not all the small ships will fit in the smaller trays, and there are way too many small trays for the tokens, even with each having their own compartment.

That works well for most everything in a moderate collection. It will not hold large ships.
For me, it holds all tokens, dice, templates, ship cards, upgrade cards, damage cards, hard plastic sleeved pilot cards, movement dials and assorted extras.
This will hold a very good sized fleet of small ships. Y-wings and HWK's have to have their own compartments as they will not fit north-south viewing the tray from the latches side.
The ships will stand up in the individually divided compartments on a single peg, on the base. B-Wings have to lay on their sides.
These will hold 2-3 large ships. You might also try a plastic .50cal ammo can such as those made by MTM.
That will come close to meeting your needs due to the way the boxes are configured, but hot-knifing is still required to get big ships in the trays.
Also, the compartments are deep enough to make easy token retrieval annoying. The first plano box I linked has a GREAT top compartment for use during gaming as well as storage.
Like I said - if you look at my signature, none of the boxes I have tried will hold my entire collection separated the way I like and securely to my satisfaction which has resulted in a dufflle bag containing various other containers to get the job done.
Edited by bzinfinityI've got the 732. Way more storage than I need at the moment. Of course that will change as preorders start coming in..
My suggestion is use the Plano case for what it's intended for and buy some fishing tackle for it. If you want to have a better solution to the Ships buy BattleFoam!
I only use Plano cases for tokens, and use pluck foam cases for the models. I will move my models into a PACK 720 that I will custom cut foam for (myself) when wave 4 comes. For Plano cases, I started with the 5231:
I filled that up, so then I added a Plano 5232:
I ended up not being comfortable with it being double sided. The only thing preventing everything in the bottom from falling out are those 2 latches. So I recently got the Plano 1374:
This should be able to hold all my tokens through wave 4 and Rebel Aces.
You may also find these helpful. I have 2x "Ezy Dose Monthly Pill Organizer and Reminder" for storing the base ship numbers. They fit perfectly.
I also have 2x "3XL AM PM Pill Organizer with Adult Lock" for organizing my target lock tokens:
For reference I have:
I will also be getting:
I should be able to fit all of those tokens in the Plano, although a couple of the Imperial dials / bases will need to go into the Rebel draw. It'll be pretty full by wave 4, I'll probably need to use my older Planos for anything after that, until I spring for another 1374. The PACK 720 will be able to hold all the ship models through Rebel Aces (and then some) if I cut my own foam, rather than using BattleFoam's custom generator. It's also way cheaper, but more work.
Edited by MajorJugglerThink I'm decided on a Plano 5232, anyone know where I can pick one up in the UK?
This is the one I use:
It holds all my ships and all the accessories. I just got a second one and now use one for Rebel Scum and the other for my Imperial Heroes, though I don't need two yet, I figure I better make room to grow before I actually need it.
Here's one you can get in the UK:
battlefoam...is so cool. there wave 3 pre cut tray solved all my issues, holds everything i have. plus the pluck tray will fit my transport..and hopefully the corvette

It's either the 732 or the 5232, now to find somewhere in the UK.

Hi Shanester, I'm in the UK too. Although Plano products may be hard to find, tackle boxes in general are easy to come by. Myself, I just picked up a compartmented storage case from B&Q which accommodates all my cards and tokens. I store my ships on the bookshelf!
I've used my kit bag and polystyrene peanuts to transport my ships - but I've only had to do that a couple of times so far as it usually play at home on my dining table.
I just do a Han and use the inside of a
Tauntaun for all my storage needs.
These Work too.
Truth be told my work was throwing out laptop bags, I use one for Rebels and one for Empire. I just picked up a couple pastic inserts for the Plano case.
Also Walmart has these there about 50 and you need the inserts but with the wave 4 stuff coming out I might switch to one of theses.
I'm currently using a Plano 3700 which is currently home for my X-Wing collection and also houses all of my Descent stuff as well
So I ordered a Plano 732, hopefully this will future proof me for a while being as I have a pre-order in for the next wave of new ships. It's being delivered from Spain as the UK does not seem to have many Plano stockists. More time to wait now to get organised.
It should. I have a 732 and still have plenty of room for wave 4 and Rebel Aces along side everything listed in my sig below.
So I recently got the Plano 1374:

Hey MJ,
Any idea if the Transport fits into the top section of that Plano 1374 (I know you said you don't put models in there, but curious if it would fit.)
Thanks.

It should, but I'll let you know for sure tomorrow when I get my transports in. I'll be able to make an educated guess on fitting the Corvette at that point as well.

I know it is an old thread, but the answer never got confirmed. Does it fit?
Also, while we are talking about the Plano 1374, does a Decimator fit in the smaller plano? They are about as large as a yt1300, but I think they are a bit thicker, so does the small plano lid still close?
Just for reference, here is a picture of the 1374 in the context of larger ships.

I have seen a photo someone took of the CR90 still in most of its plastic shipping sleeve along with some other ships, but I can't find it now. If you want exact dimensions, I own one of these, and will measure it for you, if you'd like.
Edited by Lifer4700Holyshit, the top bay is huge!
Found it!

Yes, this really has a lot of good storage space for the money.
I would think that unless I step up to spending $$$$ on foam, this is going to be it for me - but I'd rather spend that money on more ships.
