A hyperspace gate?

A hyperspace gate?

Yep. You can see the cardboard for it them in the pictures... They seem wierd to me too, as I assume the GR-75 has a Hyperdrive.

My remark was more along the lines of "since when does Star Wars have hyperspace gates? What is this, Buck Rogers or Babylon 5?"

Prequal fighters have them.

The prequel fighters used hyperspace docking rings that attached to the fighters and went with them, gate indicates a static emplacement that stays behind for other ships to use. I don't recall any such thing in any of the stuff I gave seen/read, though a quick search on wookiepedia shows that a few authors do seem to have inserted the concept into prehistory.

" Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star or bounce too close to a supernova, and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it? "

Anyone have info on how the turbolasers and the turbolaser tokens work?

They're placed during setup and function sort of like mines/bombs.

I interpret the hyperspace gates to be that the GR-75 has cleared all gravity wells preventing it from jumping, and has aligned itself up on the proper vector. We know that they can trace every known destination based on their path prior to jump, so obviously the approach vector is important. And the fact that they have to get to different spots indicates to me that they're taking different routes to the same rendezvous location so not to allow the imps to follow them.

Oh, and it's also a game mechanic to make a new mission.
